Make sure that the lid on the recovery tank is locked down all of the way around. Sometimes the back side isn't locked in. If the lid has a foam filter on it, make sure it has at least a 1/4 in. gap from the top of the filter to the top of the tank. There also is a filter from the bottom, it has a red frame, pull it out far enough to clean it. Also some of these had a duct that sits in front of the recovery tank, if not there, then no suction.

Water won't spray when I squeeze the trigger. How do I get it to spray the solution?

Hello, this is Ava with Think Crucial.

There are a number of reasons why your unit doesn't spray water. It could be that the !) water tank is empty which you can fill heavy duty bladder with hot tap water. 2) If Formula tank is empty, you can fill it with Bissell 2x formula for cleaning. 3) If tank may not be seated properly, turn the power off, remove and reseat the tank. 4) If pump may have lost prime, try to turn off and then turn on the unit, wait for one minute and depress trigger. If still nothing happens, I suggest you contact Bissell 1-800-237-7691 for further assistance.

My formula tank is not emptying on my 8910 proheat eurka cleaner

Make sure it is on heavy traffic on the selector set. You may find it is on Clear water rinse. FYI you will find your machine will clean better and your carpet will be cleaner if you use a weed sprayer and mix your soapin it. Just spray it down fairly heavy and let it set for 10 minutes. Then just use straight water in both tanks and you will be amazed. It is like a lasagna dish if it soaks for a while it comes cleaner easier.

Not spraying water and solution

Tanks may be empty or not properly seated.
-Fill up the bladder with hot water and the solution tank with proper cleaning liquid.
-Remove and reseat both tanks

Pump may dry, needed to prime.
-Turn "off" power wait for about minute turn "on" power and depress spray trigger.

Check and clean filter on the deck (under the clean water tank, a red slotted plastic screw)

If nothing works you have to open the deck cover and go into details: check the pump, its a 12V DC motor, the solenoid, its a valve which operates with 120V, the hoses for broken or pinched part, the diode bridge (creates about 12V DC for the pump if the vacuum motor is turned "on" and the secret fuse (3,15A under the heat-shrink series to the diode bridge, if this one goes, no power to the pump!)

My bissell sprays solution and water but does not **** it back up. After the water and solution are gone the return tank is completely empty

1) check the tank is full of water
2)check gasket position, can be worn, or damaged fix it
3)check the belt worn for inoperable brushes.
4)check motor duct gasket, and test it. yif you notice suction in the duct, remove the tank, for assure is properly attached.
5)check the hose is attached properly at the back of the machine
6)check the lint screen in the water tank for trapped debris
7) remove any brushe from debris.
8) repair a tank debris.
God bless you

Does not spray cleaner

It helps to always run hot water in the soap holding tank after you have cleaned the carpet to make sure the soap does not dry inside and clog. Make sure that the dirty tank water filter is clear of debris, I have noticed that if it is clogged it won't spray out solution. Another thing to try is, it usually will always spray out of handheld cleaning attatchment. steve

My bissell cleaner bottom brushes are not turning and the big tank of water is not working only the small stain tank is working. it is still sucking up the water

Check the brush drive belt has not broken by inspecting from underneath. See the manual pages 21 & 22 for removal instructions. Download a copy from the following link

http://uk.bissell.com/images/UserGuides/9500E.pdf

This may be caused because the pump belt has stretched or broken or the pump is seized and will not turn. Remove the pump belt and turn the pump rotor with your fingers to see it turns freely. If it does then the pump should be OK but the belt may be stretched and will need replacing. If the unit does not spray after changing the belt then clean the spray nozzles at the front of the machine and make sure that water flows to the nozzles OK. You can check this by temporarily disconnecting the nozzles from the plastic pipes.

Main causes for no spray.

Bladder may be empty.
SmartMix Bottle may be empty.
The Filter may be clogged.
Tanks may not be seated properly.
Pump may have lost prime.
The Pump Belt may be broken.

2 front jets are blocked. This is a common problem. When the machine is standing for a while the detergent turns to a gel causing the blockage Lay the Bissell on its side then where the water comes out of the jets at the bottom of the machine unblock them using a pin to poke through the hole in the centre.

Try running hot water through the system with no detergent to empty out all the residual detergent. Keep running hot water through the system by pressing the button you press for it to spray the water do this for about 5 mins and keep swapping the water for hotter water as it starts to cool doing this 4 or 5 times might solve your problem if not get the tools out and start looking for the blockage. Do this once a month to ensure that the pipes and jets are kept clean and free of any detergent gel build up.
