SOURCE: Instructions on removing and refit

Not sure if you got any diagrams on instructions with the new part. But it might help (if you have not already done so) to go to this site and get to diagram no. 5. The pump and motor assemblies on your model are shown here. It might help to understand which sequence the parts are fitting.

The posting on one of the forum covering a Bosch dishwasher has this on it.

"On the bosch 43XX series, getting to the drain pump for extraction means taking off the front face panel and the 90 degree bent steel panel(unpainted) at the door hinge. It may also involve removing the left vertical side panel. (power disconnected)Then find the electrical terminals on the pump and with a pair of needlenose or hemostats, depress the keepers on the contacts and pull the slide terms off the spade contacts. The pump removes by depressing the white plastic keeper lock located at about 2:00 on the circumference of the pump housing where it inserts into the tank sump and turning the pump counter-clockwise 1/4 turn. Then with the dexterity of a small monkey, you can extract the pump from the tank/catchbasin prison. On the new pump, use silicone grease on the o-ring and reverse the procedure."

Although few dishwashers have a water pump belt, if the dishwasher won't drain there might be a worn or broken water pump belt. After removing the lower kick panel the motor can be seen in the front, the water pump belt is on the bottom of the motor.

Clogged or Improperly Installed Garbage Disposer

If the dishwasher won't drain and the garbage disposer was installed recently, the installer might have forgotten to knock out the drain plug from this disposer. All garbage disposers are sold with a solid plug in the drain tube for situations where a dishwasher isn't connected. However, if the dishwasher is connected, the plug will need to be removed. If the disposer wasn't replaced recently, remove the dishwasher drain hose from the disposer and clean out both the fitting on the disposer and the end of the drain hose. These are the most common places to find an obstruction if the dishwasher won't drain.

Drain Hose

If the dishwasher won't drain the drain hose might be clogged. Remove the drain hose from both the dishwasher and the sink drain to clean it out. The most common place for an obstruction is at the garbage disposer.

If the dishwasher won't drain the check valve might be stuck closed. The check valve is a device which prevents water from returning to the dishwasher after it has drained. If the valve gets stuck closed, it will prevent the water from draining. The check valve is located in or at the outlet of the pump that the drain hose attaches to. Sometimes the check valve is accessed from the inside of the unit depending on the model.

My bosch dishwasher will not drain and makes a humming noise

Humming noise is an indication of your drain motor getting power but not spinning. Either your drain pump is defective and needs to be replaced, or something is stuck in the pump preventing it from draining out the water. Either way you will have to take the dishwasher out and get at the pump from the bottom of the machine.

Water in bottom of bosch dishwasher will not drain. How do I get this water to drain

Hi

Dishwasher not draining issue occurs due to kinked drain pipe, clogged drain filter or drain pump. Check the drain hose for any visible clogging, remove if present. If no visible lint is present then remove then turn off the dishwasher and remove the drain hose and check for any visible clogging. If still not visible then the drain filter or drain pump is clogged and you'll need to clean the drain filter and drain pump. To access the drain pump, please follow the procedure---
1. Drain pumps are mounted to sumps in the front of dishwashers --they're easily accessible from the front of dishwashers by removing toe kicks.
2. Tools needed: small flat blade screwdriver (for unlocking terminals).
3. Remove toe kick/base cover, pull up terminal cover and disconnect wires (using screwdriver to unlock locking terminals).
4. To remove pump, pull latch (on circular collar) & rotate pump clockwise (cw).
5. To install new pump, insert @ 2:00 position & rotate counterclockwise (ccw).
6. Clean water & debris from base, then check float operation.
7. Connect wires, then install base cover & toe kick.
Please note that dishwashers don't drain out the complete water such that heating element doesn't overheat. Hope this helps... Please post back for any further assistance.

How to change a drain pump in Bosch dishwasher?

Are you sure you need the pump? I have written a guide you should review before you go through the hassle of the pump. Read it thoroughly and follow the directions. If you replace the pump and it is not the problem, you'll be going through all of these steps anyway.

Pump fail

Have you actually checked the pump, normally they are just clogged with fluff and residue, they dont fail that often. Remove the side panel, the side where the drain container is. You will see the pump assembly at the bottom, remove the screw and top cover, then push the clip in to remove the pump unit, after removing the wiring plugs, the pump can be stripped and cleaned, clean the water chamber also which will be clogged. Hopefully it will work fine.

Helloduranjp,
Welcome to fixya.

You said, Your Bosch dish washer won't work. A number 1 is displayed on the electronic panel.

If it is displaying"01" then that means the extra dry setting is being applied!
Did you try to use the extra Dry setting?
Did the dishwasher work before this or is it brand new?
What is the model number and year?
Let me know ! I'm waiting for your response

Below is and example of the usage of 01 or 00 in a Bosch Dishwasher!

Extra Dry Heat
With this option you can raise the temperature of the rinse water and increase the drying
time which will result in improved drying.
To activate :
Press and hold the left cancel drain button ,
Then press and hold the on/off button when the LED display shows a, "00" or a "01"
To enable the additional drying heat, press the left cancel drain button until the LED display shows a "01"

Dishwasher will not fill with water

without a brand or model number its hard to be sure, but some types have a float cut out switch inside the washer. Its on the bottom inside and kind of resembles a plastic mushroom. The top should lift up and down easily. detergent will clog it up and keep it from moving. Just clean all the soap caked on it and move it up and down to see it it pushes a little switch underneath.
