Question about Sewing Machines
Machine will not load bobbin..(slipping?) Best guess. Little black tire that turns post, or the plastic (gear?) that turns tire when engaged..Cost of repair
I am trying to understand the troubles..
...is it that the bobbin winder will not fully engage to spin and wind to fill a new bobbin ?
Provided the engaging spring for the bobbin winder is in good order, the replacement of the winder rubber is a simple procedure if you have a top cover that is easily removed to gain access...just pop off the old one and replace......a short term quick fix may even be to turn the old one over.
Use the old one as a sample and take to any reputable repair shop, they ought to have a variety of winder rubbers to suit most brands, & a quick phone call may save fuel if you want to be certain.
....if, however, you have a 2 piece moulded case, access is very difficult and not something recommended for the uninitiated......there are numerous concealed screws and plastic clips which break easily, so best to have someone qualified do a full service at the same time if you haven't had one done for a while, then you are sure of a good job and a revitalised machine.
