you should try and reformat the phone

switch off the phone....now press and hold 3,* and the green button on the phone , do not let them go , switch the phone on while still holding the buttons.....then phone should now start to refomat itself and correct any errors you had.

if you have installed an application onto the memory card and have done a factory reset or SW updated on your fone the fone no longer has the application in the menu but it recognizes something should be there.
Instead of formatting the mem card all you need to do is go to the "Application Manager"(Ap.mgr), usually in tools, and delete the application from there or re install your application.
When you insert the mem card into the fone it will read it. the same way as a PC reads a CD or memory stick, so it is normal for you to get the bar running along the bottom. The larger the memory and the fuller it is the longer it will take.

Fyi - The easiest way to format the memory card is to plug a usb cable into the phone and select 'data transfer' mode. After this, the card will be visible on the pc and can be formatted in the same way as any usb disk.
