Question about GE Washing Machines

Washer Won't Finish Cycle....

My machine will get almost all the way through to wash- into the rinse cycle- then decide to pause indefinitely or until the machine turns off. Drain trap is cleaned out, nothing is in the pump, and load is not out of balance (tried with only a few small articles of clothing to test).

Any ideas?

Oh! But I did smell something icky- like a dead mouse smell- near the main button. Is it possible that a mouse crawled into the top somewhere, died, and is keeping my machine from ending the cycles?

Thanks for any help-

So does anyone know how to open the top of the machine? I tried to take the panel off, removing all visible screws (in back too) but the side of the top still feel firmly in place. Do I need to remove the whole front just to get the top off?

  • alasa7 Jun 15, 2008

Thank you- I did open the bottom front panel to see if there was any sign of a mouse- and there were signs, but no actual mouse. I definitely smelled it around the top panel but am still having trouble opening it....

I took out the two screws at the top in the back (had to tilt the dryer back as it sits on top of the washer) but cannot figure out how to "slide the top forward".

Where are the hooks? Every time I try to move the panel it just feels like it will break- the top where I took out the screws feels a little loose but the rest feels tight as can be...

Sorry! I wish the manual came with a diagram or something!

Sounds like this could be a blocked/air-locked filter.

easy fix if so.

First. switch off the Machine at the socket.
Check your washing machine user manual for the location of the pump filter access screw. (Normally situated behind a front bottom clip out panel) ensure you have a few towels and a couple of pans/dishes at the ready before releasing the access screw, expect 2 or three litres of water to drain... and whatever is blocking the filter. (could just be an air blockage or a small object) replace the filter screw and clip off panel, switch on at mains.

Hope this helps.

I dont have a stop buttom

You're start/pause button should pause the cycle, cancell should completely cancell. After pressing the Start/Pause within a cycle, the door lock may require time to unlock as indicated by the lock light on the panel.

I pushed the 'pause' button during the wash cycle of my LG WD-3274HD and now the door won't open.

Hi!

The machine knows it dint't finish the washing cycle, and, because it may be possible that water is still a lot inside, the door is locked.
If you are shure the door can be opened without the water coming out by the door, simply disconnect it from the electrical supply and wait a few minutes until the door unlocks. (you will hear the unlock click)

Good luck!

Duet whirpool washing machine stop and DLF sign appear

Hi,
Initially unplug the washing machine. While the washer remains unplugged, press and hold the [Start/Pause] button on the front panel for five seconds.
Plug the unit back in, and run a rinse and spin cycle to test if the DL code is cleared.

If you still face the problem then follow the procedure:

Unplug the washer and allow the unit to sit for 30 minutes to give the suds time to dissolve.

Plug the washer back in and press [Power] to turn on the washer.

Do not choose a washing cycle. Press the [Spin Speed] key until "No Spin" is selected.

Press [Start/Pause] to begin a drain only cycle.

After the drain only cycle has completed, remove the clothing items from the machine. Turn the power back on and select [Rinse and Spin] and then press [Start/Pause].
This will remove excess soap suds and light residue from the drum.

Repeat this step until no visible suds are in the drum of the washer.

Hope this helps.

Need to know buttons to press to self clean.

Taken from the Use and Care guide:

To clean and freshen the washer, perform the System Clean Cycle. For best results use the System Clean Cycle once a month. To begin the cycle, press and hold the Spin Speed and Options buttons simultaneously for 10 seconds until the display changes to "CLn".

IMPORTANT
Items left in washer while performing the System Clean Cycle will cause a severe out-of-balance situation that could damage the washing machine.

REMOVE ALL ITEMS FROM WASH DRUM before filling the detergent chamber with one (1) cup of liquid chlorine bleach OR one (1) pouch of TIDE® WASHING MACHINE CLEANER. DO NOT use both. Press Start/Pause to begin.

If the System Clean Cycle is canceled or paused during the cycle, the washer will go through 2 rinse cycles to clean the drum of any residual bleach before unlocking the door.

Cheers!
