My Pixma MX310 will not turn on

Hello:
I recently unplugged my MX310 to move it and when I plugged it back in, the alarm button glows yellow but the printer will not respond.  I have tried all the trouble shooting tips on the canon website with no luck, can you help?

I cannot turn on the printer. The green light blinks; the alarm light blinks. "CHECK PRINTER" appears on the LCD with 5100 in the lower right corner. I checked all the connections; turned...

According to the Canon troubleshooting website here are the steps to follow for the PIXMA MX310 and Error Code 5100:
-Remove the cartridges
-Inspect the cartridges to ensure all packaging is removed
-Reinstall the cartridges
-Press the ON/OFF button for 2 seconds
-Unplug the printer and wait 10 seconds
-Check the printer for any obstructions including packaging materials
-Remove the scanner cover
-Open the lid - check for paper that is stuck; these can be very small pieces, so look carefully
-Plug the printer back in and power it on.
If that does not solve the problem you will have to contact a service repair centre. Good luck.. thanks

Action to fix Error Code 6A00

Hi
Error 6A00
The 6A00 is a Canon generic code for paper path jam.

Solution 1:
Move the printhead carriage back and forth a few times.

Solution 2:
Check the purge unit: Moving the print head assembly will not clear a purge unit if its jammed with paper, paper clips, push pins, screws, cookie crisp, flower bud pods or the like.

Solution 3:
Press the ink pads down in the purge unit.

All I ask is please come back and just gave a vote, it will gave me some satisfaction to know am helping some one so I will keep on helping.

Getting a 5B00 error on a MX310. We just replaced the ink absorber

error 5b00

reset waste absorber counter. here is how to reset.

1) With the printer2.gif powered off but connected to a power source, press the Power button while pressing and holding the Stop/ Reset button.
2) When the Power LED is lit, press the Stop/Reset button two times while pressing and holding the Power button.
3) When releasing the Power button and the Stop / Reset button (regardless of order), the printer will move into a service mode. (Waiting for menu selection)
4) When the LED lights in green, press the Stop/Reset button 4 times.

If this does not work you need to call canon.

Good Luck

Alarm won't reset

To reset you can't just turn it off & on normally. You have to unplug the unit for a few minutes to an hour or so, depending on manufacturer, then plug the unit back in and turn it on. This usually will reset the unit. Hope this helps.

Canon MX310 doesn't go on and Alarm light goes on solid.

disconnect it again for sometime.also try to remove the cartridges from the printer if possible.and take out the power wire of the printers back for sometime.also remove if any computer wire connected to the back of the printer and then slowly ---slowly connect every thing back and check out.it should work.as the printer is new and the alarm light also bliks if the internal parts gets misallighned or blocked internally.if such problems get it replaced.

release button after 10 seconds
