Take vent hose off run dryer, if it dryers like it should then vent hose is restricted. You should feel hot air with the hose off, if not then you will need to clean the dryer of lint that is trapped inside the dryer. This website will assist you in the dissemblance of your dryer, Hope it helped Tim:

GE Dryer DBSR453Eb2WW takes twice as long to dry clothes

A clogged or partially clogged vent will reduce the air flow through the dryer and greatly increase the drying time. I assume you checked the drying time again after you cleaned the vents. Have you also checked that the lint trap is clean? Make sure no lint has found it's way around the lint trap and has jammed the intake.

I would be very suspicious of the 240 v breaker double breaker feeding the dyrer; maybe the dryer is only running on 120 vac instead of the full 240vac. The motor would be getting full power, but the heating element would only be getting half power.

Hot Point Dryer won't dry, gets hot on top.

An educated guess would be either the lint tube or the tube that exhausts the air outside is blocked with lint----no airflow or greatly reduced flow will cause this symptom.

I have a whirlpool dryer and the heating eleiment is getting hot but the dryer inside is barley warm

Inside of the dryer gets warmed up when the drum rotates as there is circulation of air. Hope your clothes are drying. If it takes long time then clean the screen filter as it gets clogged with the flint from clothes. As a matter of routine clean this filter every time you use it before starting the drying process.

Dryer warm but not hot, long dry times

some times there are multiple heating elements in there and if one is out it does not get as hot. another simpler place to start would be to make sure your line is clear of debries all the way from dryer to out doors. this is a good idea any way since lint build up can cause the occasional house fire.

Dryer warm but not hot takes for ever to dry cloths

Bad blower wheel.
Blocked vent.
Lint ball in filter housing.
All of the above.

Dryer gets hot when not running

Getting hot when not started is a great concern.
I have a few ideas why, but this is a fire hazard and I would suggest unplugging and either getting help or replacing.
That said, there here are a few suggestions.
1) if the element is shorted to ground, it will get power to one side of the element and heat though ground. This, again, is serious.
2) if it heats forever and doesn't get warm enough to dry, this is another indication of an element that is not working up to power. Not getting 230 across the entire element and not getting hot enough to dry.
3) Many times when a dryer runs too long, the air flow if blocked by the vent being plugged or some plug withing the dryer itself.

Again, I am very concerned about this problem and suggest you not use it until it is repaired. If you want to check the element, it is fairly easy, but unit will need disassembled.

Dryer does not get hot enough to dry clothes Roper REX4634KQ1 Electric Dryer

Most common cause of this is a clogged venting going to the outside to test this remove the vent from the back of the dryer and run a load if it drys ok them you know you have a venting issue and will need to be cleaned out if not plz repost and we can look deeper into it
