Umm if you have sound then your yellow av cord must be faualty (The yellow av cord is the one that produces the pictures onto the screen) But if you have no sound and the power brick and xbox is humming away nicely then i recomend taking it to a repairer to try and get it fixed.=]

The power brick on my xbox 360 is red and is not overheating yet i smaell burning plastic from my xbox 360 console anyone have any tips?

A red light on the xbox 360 power brick usually indicates the Xbox 360 console has a short circuit. Here is how to be sure:

1. Try unplugging the power brick from the wall and from the xbox 360.
2. Wait about 30 seconds and plug the power brick into the wall power outlet.
3. Make sure the indicator light on the power brick is orange. ( If it's not orange then get yourself a new power brick and try again ).
4. Plug the power brick into the Xbox 360 console and try to power it on.
If your power brick turns red or you get an immediate three red ring error than you will need to have the console professionally repaired.
If your warranty with Microsoft has expired; the company I work for GATpro Repairs offers this service at a low flat rate and we pay for the return shipping.
Good Luck and I hope this has helped!

My xbox wont turn on i just got it back because i got the 3 rings of death i plugged everything in and it wont turn on i am extremly pissed what the hell is wrong with it?

Is the light on your power brick red, if so this is your problem, its overheating, if cooling it down does'nt work try another power brick.

If the power brick light is orange, but no power at all to the console, look into the usb ports on the front of the console, its easier if you remove the faceplate, make sure there is no damage or bent pins touching, this will short your console so it wont switch on.
Remember thumbs up if this works.

My powerbrick lightis orange but my xbox360 wont turn on

If the light on the power brick stays orange after turning the console on it means the brick is not properly functioning. You can attempt to clean the power brick with a can of air. Also make sure it has ventilation and is not sitting on carpet. This can cause the power brick itself to overheat and cause issues with it and the console itself. Also make sure your 360 is not plugger into a surge suppressor as this can cause issue due to double protection.
If possible, test the power brick on a different console, and test the console on a different power brick. This will narrow down your problem area.

Xbox 360 has orange light on the power brick,no power to console?

Mine has an orange light and works fine. i think that's standby mode. it turns green as soon as the 360 powers up. try replacing the power cord that goes from the 360 back to the power block. It may be faulty.

X-box 360 wont turn on

Is your power box light orange or green. It should be orange if turned off and go green when turned on if it is red your power supply box is no good you can unplug it leave off for 10 minutes or so then try again if light doesn't go orange you won't be able to turn it on. I had the same problem and it was power supply box with red light got new one works great.

What color should the light on the power brick be? I am new to the 360s so im unsure. The light on the power brick is orange. I just bought it

Well the Power Brick in Orange because the console is truned off, signaling the "Brick" is on standby. Or the Orange light can mean the "Brick" is not connected to the console.
