It didn't Fix the Problem. That is what I thought was wrong with it. I Posted it to see if it was a Flashing issue or to confirm that indeed it was the Router that was failing. Already had tried a different Power supply, but it had the same symptom. I openned the Router up

You mean the DSL and LAN lights are not on?

Are you sure the lan and your DSL cable are connected firmly? The LAN and DSL lights will only come on if these cables are connected to the router.

If that is the problem then the router's modulation circuits are damaged. You will have to choose between getting it repaired or getting it replaced. I suggest the second one coz its gonna work out lot cheaper. You can get a new router for as low as 50-75$.

Hello,

I think your router is having a power problem. The power of your router is defective and cannot effectively power the router, that's why its blinking. This problem may have occurred as a result of excess power entering into the router, irregular power supply or power surge.

Borrow an adapter from a friend and test it with the router. If the router does the same thing, turn it off, leave it for a while and try again.

If the above doesn't solve the problem, then it you will need to get a repairman to fix the router for you.

Fixing this type of problem requires technical experience.

Good luck.

Make sure you have the latest firmware as this might help with your dropped connections. Also try to make a DHCP Reservation for each computer connected to your network (p. 32 in the User Manual), as that can also help prevent dropped connections.

Download the latest firmware ver. 1.23NA to your local computer. Connect your DGL-4500 router via a wired connection (ethernet) to your computer and install the firmware update following instructions in the user manual.

If you don't see any devices connected in the DHCP client list on the router interface even when you are sure of the devices being connected, only a firmware update or a re-flashing of firmware can help. You can find the latest firmware available on the d-link support site. You can verify the model and version numbers and download the corresponding firmware. This is only fix.
