Our idea prepaid sim is blocked and required PUK code

PUK stands for Personal Unblocking Key. This is a unique eight-digit code specific to your SIM card. This is required when the PIN number to unlock your mobile phone is entered incorrectly 3 times. You are then given 10 attempts to enter your PUK code. If an incorrect PUK code is entered after the 10th attempt, you will block your SIM card permanently and will require a new SIM card from your mobile phone provider.
PUK codes can be obtained through the following ways - The PUK code is in your SIM card documentation Starter Pack. If you do not have this then - Please contact your phone service provider.

You can only get a PUK code from the SIM provider, so you'll have to contact them directly.

Alternatively just insert a new compatible SIM card; you'll have a new phone number and won't be able to access prepaid credit or other data stored on the locked SIM, but at least you will be able to use your phone.

If you are a postpaid user (Globe, Smart, Sun Cellular, Verizon, T-Mobile, Orange or AT&T), your cell provider may be able to provide you with your PUK code. Just call them up, authenticate your identity by answering some questions and they will give you the PUK for your SIM card. This is easy because the telco can verify you as the owner of the SIM card or the mobile number.

If you are a prepaid card user, then it is assumed that only you have the copy of the PUK when you purchased the SIM. Since most prepaid SIM cards do not require registration, there is no way the telco can verify your identity and ownership of the SIM card.

The PUK is enclosed in a machine-generated security paper. Make sure to take care in storing this paper as it will be your only copy.

Pin codes and PUK codes are meant to protect the sims.

If you wrongly put PIN Codes a number of times, to really protect your sim it will ask you a puck code. (Please note every sim has its unique PUCK Code.)

Pincode/Puck codes for any sim are provided by the service provider. (In your case, Telstra an Australian SP).

You may require to contact your Service Provider Network and speak to Customer Service Representative for getting this information (PUK code).

Kindly dont apply any more codes any further or otherwise the sim may get permanently blocked and you may have to replace it.
