Question about Whirlpool Microwave Ovens

Open Question

Hello, The microwave oven Whirlpool MWD 207 won't startm, right away. It says on display something like: "doo1", or "door" but not precisely. After several STOP button pressing situation won't change. Somehow over the time, or even restarting (which does not help itself directly, as well), the oven seems to be working well again. But trouble will appar again and again in rather same way. In manual, there is no troubleshooting page, nor error message list nor anything concernig that. What's wrong ? the oven is brand new.. thank you, ed

first, get your money back or get a replacement for no charge. now, unplug the oven for 15 minutes and try again. if no-go, then some device is faulty that only a tech can find

We have had problems like this before. Most likely the smartboard is defective.Check with manufacture to see if there is a recall. You should be able to find them on the web.

SOURCE: Buzzing noise, wont work???

The magnatron is shorting, overloading the high voltage transformer. From the picture this looks like an older unit and is probably not worth a magnatron replacement.

SOURCE: kenmore elite microwave oven displays "Locked" and will not respond

The first thing to try is a "hard reset". Unplug it from the power line for a few minutes, plug it back in, set the clock, then try again.

If that doesn't work, please reply back with your exact model number.

A full Sears/Kenmore model number usually has 3 digits, a dot, then 8 more digits, such as ###.########

You may have a bad keypad due to moisture from steam or spray.

Does it make any noise, like buzzing ? Is there a burnt smell? If so it might be a shorted diode or perhaps the magnetron.

My whirlpool microwave/oven combo is displaying a "DOOR" error message, and the microwave won't work. I have replaced a 20a bus fuse and all 3 door micro switches... It is still displaying the "DOOR"

When microwaves first got popular I used to be a helper with my next door neighbor who fixed them. I does sound like you should have covered it with those switches. If you close the door very slowly, pulling back on the door see if you can hear all 3 switches clicking. You should be able to hear them easily. If you only hear the first 2 try pushing on the door to hear the 3rd. If it will click with pressure on the corners or in the middle then you door is tweaked, possibly from pulling on the door hard to open it or smacking into something on the edge. If you can hear all 3 switches and it still wont start then its going to be the sensor that receives the signal from the switches. I'm not sure how accessible those are on today's models since they make them as disposables now, back then they cost around $500 so they were serviced.

Microwave oven won't heat

Depending on the model, it may just be a bad door switch.

Or it may be a bad relay or connection on the the controller.

If you need more info than that, we have several Frigidaire service manuals at our site for free download.

I would just need to know your full model number form the tag in or on the unit.

At our Web site, we have a video available showing how to remove a typical over the range control panel assembly in under 5 minutes.

Feel free to contact me directly
(and please remind me of your full model number from the tag on the unit) for more information & help.

If your model number is in the Sharp R-1500 series, then that's a problem with the bottom door switch or its mount.
