Iphone 3g: I can get the sim tray out ok and but when I put the sim card back in it aaalmost clicks back in properly but won't go that last half a millimetre. It is frustrating because I had it going once and now I can't get it back in.

Ekse has tried but I guess it's not a common problem. You would think it would be easy to get back in but it just won't go that last half a millimetre. I have checked many times that the sim tray is the correct way around, however, it will not even work with no sim card. I have also checked with a flashlight and can see nothing obstructing it.
Would anybody in your network know?

Probably your sincard holder is misaligned and may need replacement. or there is a blockage inside your i phone simcard slot port. you can remove cover and inspect it by yo self. follow this guide.just up to when you have access to the sim slot area check and fix then assemble. or buy a simcard holder here

Hey, there is noting special in taking the tray out or placing it back in, just make sure you got the tray and the card in the right way, if something is upside down, it won't go in.

Also you can take a look with a flashlight into the small tray opening in the phone, make sure its clean.

maybe someone here knows, click on work with another expert if this message locks you to me again. I could probably figure it out if I saw it myself.

Worse case, you might have to take apart the iphone - assuming your outside of warranty to take a look at the sim card reader slot.

I try to remove sim card from an apple iphone 3. but the sim card tray only ejects half way . i cannot remove the sim card

only way round this would be to open the iPhone and free the sim card tray from inside. If you don't know how to do this and are not good with electronics your best to get a local iPhone repair person to do it for you as they are very delicate inside and you could easily damage the phone and render it useless just to get the sim card if not done properly

Tip

How to replace iPhone SIM card

The only thing that you must have is a SIM eject tool or simply a straightened paper clip or any pin-like object hard enough to push-open the SIM tray. BTW, this SIM eject tool came with the box when you bought your iPhone.

Here are the steps:

First, refer to the image below to locate the SIM card tray. To pull it out, you need to insert the SIM eject tool (or the paper clip) on the tiny hole on the top of the iPhone 3G or on the right-side of the iPhone 4. Push until the tray pops out.

NOTE: The tiny hole found on the top of the iPhone 4 is not for the SIM card tray, it is a microprhone. Please do not insert any thing in there.

Once the tray pops out, pull it out completely and replace the SIM with any SIM you want.

When you're putting it back make sure that the SIM carrier logo is facing the front of the iPhone. Don't force it if it get stuck, just pull it out again, and gently put it back.

How to insert sim card in iphone 3g

Turn off your iPhone 3G and make sure any cords or connector cables are removed from the device. Then, hold your iPhone 3G upright.
  • Locate the Sleep/Wake button and headphone jack on the very top of the iPhone. Between these two components you will see a very small hole.
  • Insert the tip of a paper clip into the hole to release the iPhone's SIM card tray. The small tray will pop up relatively quickly from the top of the iPhone. If there is already a SIM card in the tray, use your fingers to remove it.
  • Insert the SIM card you want to install into the phone facedown in the tray. Make sure the side without the reflecting panel is inserted first.
  • Press the SIM card tray gently back into the slot until you hear it "click" into place. Now turn your iPhone on. All of the information on the card will now be in your iPhone 3G.

How to insert sim card 3G

To insert the SIM card into the iPhone 3G you first have to remove the SIM tray from the top of the phone, located near the power button. Use the SIM tray removal tool that came with the phone, or alternatively a paperclip. Push into the small hole and gently pull the paperclip back out the hole, the tray will come with it. Insert your SIM into the tray the correct way round and put the tray with SIM back into the slot. Hope this helps!

Apple iphone.where abouts do i put my sim card in the iphone?

Use the supplied tool or a straightened out paper clip to eject the sim tray in the top of the phone. There is a tiny round hole in the top of the phone that you gently push the tool(or paper clip) into to eject the sim tray. Load your sim card and slide it back in and you're done!

    Good luck,
