Hi Viadotra,

Try the Mouse Properties options in the Control Panel. Just as we have mouse pointer speed adjustability option for Desktop PC similarly there MUST be something for the laptop too.

One of my friends was experiencing a similar problem i.e. mouse jumps about erratically even on slightest of touches. What he did was (it might sound weird but worked for him) stuck a broad enough, transparent sticking tape (one used for packing small gift boxes, etc.) on it.

One must have steady hands to do it. It should be done in one effort only. Repeated pealing off the tape and re-sticking can damage your touchpad. I personally WOULDN'T suggest you the "Sticky Tape" option. Do it only as last resort i.e if you don't find any other remedy.

Or best yet. Just buy an external USB mouse, plug it in and use it whenever you're at home or work and use the mousepad only while traveling.!!!

Hope this helps..

My mouse pad is too sensitive, the pointer jumps, scrolls when ever i touch the pad to move the cursor. what can i do?

To change the settings on your mouse pad you should be able to go to:
1. windows Start Button
2. Control Panel
3. Hardware and Sound
4. Devices
5. Mouse
This should get you into the settings for the mouse and you can find different settings to change. Depending on your system layout of these controls they might slightly vary, but that should get you into the mouse controls so that you can change the sensitivity.

My laptop is Hp TouchSmart tx2,the problm is :-The pointer moves unwnted icon it click by it self.

The problem is very simple. The sensitivity of the mouse pad is too high in your laptop i guess. Try adjusting the sensitivity of the mouse. Go to control panel-> mouse options->mouse sensitivity. Try changing the double clicking speed, mouse sensitivity etc and check your mouse operation now.

How do I manage the mouse pad sensativity on my VIAO notebok computer

Hi,
You should be able to manage the touchpad (mouse pad) settings by going in to control panel --> Touchpad.(or "Dell Touchpad"). There you would find the touchpad settings where you could adjust the sensitivity for the touchpad.
Please let me know if you face issues finding the settings.
Thanks.

Touch pad too sensitive, it always messes me up when I'm typing

You could try adjust the touchpad settings. Sometimes there is a touchpad icon in the taskbar that you can right click on to adjust the properties. You can also disable the pad and use a USB mouse instead.

I don't know if you mean that your cursor suddenly moves as you are typing? If so, it is likely your touch pad is too sensitive. I have a mouse w/mouse pad but never disabled the touch pad. So i disabled the touch pad and it solved it for me. If you want to be sure it is the touch pad being over sensitive, then type a paragraph but keep your fingers and palms far away from the touch pad. If the problem improves, like it did for me, then the touchpad is too sensitive. You can go into the settings for the touchpad to change the sensitivity setting to make it less senstive and see if that works and it does not then press Fn +F7 keys to disable the touchpad.

Sensitive touch pad

Hi, click on start and control panel. go to mouse properties. Try to look for a tab that says either touch or touchpad. you can change the sensitivity settings there. however if this doesnt work, this could only mean that this is a physical problem with the toucpad. try to apply pressure on the outer side of the touchpad. if it moves, you're gonna need a replacement palmrest.
