It depends on how you are charging the unit, if you are just plugging the unit to your computer to charge then it takes a few hours to fully charge...

If you are using the car cigarette lighter adapter plug, it has a fuse inside of plug, this could have blown... to check it the plug has a silver tip end unscrew it CAREFULLY its spring loaded and check fuse

How often should i charge the batteries?

If modern LI ION batteries are used, keep them always on the charger is the best advice. there is no memory effect on , and there is a deep-discharge protection on them and the device will shut off when the level will come low but dont wait to long with recharge (if a device is not used with a empty battery for a long while that its not easy if the batteries are below that special protecttion level it will sometimes not recognized by the charger anymore. and you can boost if possible with an other loaded battery + to plus and - to - if that happens.
BUT If Nickel Cadmium batteries are used make them always empty before recharge to protect for memory effect faults on capacity. beware thats only by NI-CD. NI-MH Nickel metalhydride batteries have also no memory effects.
Very important its depend on all batteries Better to avoid charging if there are to cold temperatured batteries.
Its very degrease the battery lifetime.

Look at the light switch. Sometimes it will turn on the headlites by itself and drain the battery.

Hp d3000 problem

Nothing wrong with the camera I guess. One ore more batteries in your camera are empty, and possibly they can't be charged (enough).
When you have rechargeable batteries for your camera, try charging the batteries again, but if the error returns, just buy a set of new AA rechargeable batteries. That should solve the problem.

I have 2 sets of Sony MDR-RF970R Wireless Headphones. On set works O.K. The other loses contact with the base intermittantly. Sometimes it reconnects and other times when I operate the headband switch...

Are you using the rechargeable battery that was supplied or have you ever replaced it?

If you're still using the same rechargeable battery then it's probably worth trying a decent set of AAA alkaline batteries or other rechargeable batteries.

If this doesn't solve your problem then you're probably right in the fact that there's a fault or loose connection in the automatic headband switch. The only real repair solution would be to have a look at them yourself as taking them anywhere for repair wouldn't be cost effective.

Battery shows empty with new batteries. Recent development. Put batteries in, take a couple shots, battery is empty. Tried with several pairs of batteries. Contacts OK and tight. Suspect a software...

Take a look in your camera's menus. There should be a place where you can select rechargeable or non-rechargeable batteries. That setting enables or disables the battery charging circuit. If you are using rechargeable batteries, the camera must be set accordingly so that the battery charger will turn on. If you are using
Alkaline batteries such as Duracell or other types of non-rechargeable batteries the charger must be disabled. If you do not set that parameter correctly, you will get the symptoms you describe.

BATTERY SHOWS EMPTY WHEN TRY TO TAKE PICTURE

if its internal and have to charge it with a charger then you need to change the battery. i would recommend taking it to a camera shop and having it evaluated its well worth the evaluation trust me it might be something simple as just getting a new battery to a loose connection inside. Worse case you might have a bad indicator that needsto be fixed.
