Hi,

Thanks for using Fixya.
Here are the steps to re-sync BOTH remotes:
1.Take off the back of the wii remote and there should be a small red button. Once you spot the button move on.

2.On the actual wii console, under the power and the reset button ( if you get to the eject button, you have gone too far) there is a Small compartment. Open the compartment and find the small red button.

3 Press BOTH red buttons (1 on the console and 1 on the remote) at the same time for 10 seconds.

4. Once the first remote had been synced, do the same with the second.

Remotes won't connect. put in new batteries, tried pressing red button in side remotes, all 4 blue lights are flashing on both remotes

Hello kellyanne_ma,
The Wii must be searching for remotes before one will connect. If you are trying to connect controller #1 (meaning there are none connected) and it fails, there may be a problem with your Wii.
First, remove power from the Wii by unplugging it. Wait 30 seconds and then plug it back in. Once powered on and you see the health/safety information press and hold the red SYNC button on your Wii for 20 seconds.
Now press the Sync button on the controller and while the blue lights are flashing, press the Sync button on the Wii.
Hopefully, that will connect the controller! If it does not, you may need to contact Nintendo!

Reprogramming wii remote

Okay, on the front of the wii open the door where you'd put in an SD card, and take the battery covers off the remotes so you can access the reset buttons on both the console and remotes. Then press the red reset button on the wii and then within a second or two press the ones on the remotes. This should connect your remotes to your wii.

Connecting 2nd remote

There are 2 ways to connect remotes on Wii. The way that the remotes sync permanently to a Wii system and the second one that connects the remote temporarily.
To connect the remotes pernanently, open the flap on the front of the Wii and press the red sync button. Then take the remotes and press the buttons 1 and 2 at the same time.
Do the same with the other controllers

The second way can be done via the Home menu. Go to home menu pressing the home button and then point the remote to the bottom of the screen (where a wii remote is iconized) Then go to the synchronization menu to synchronize the remotes. Press 1 and 2 of the remotes to get synchronized.

The time you press the buttons on the remotes determines the player assigned to it. For example, the first remote you synchronize is the first player, the second is the second player etc.

Also, I strongly advice you to READ THE MANUAL
seriously... do it.
