SOURCE: logitech webcam download

http://www.logitech.com/index.cfm/435/352&cl=us,en?WT.ac=sc|downloads||dd

Click there. Choose your OS.  Then choose 32 or 64 bit.
Download and install.

To find out what OS and 32 or 64 bit, right click My Computer, select Properties. The pop up from that has all this information. XP or Vista. 32 or 64. (If you have XP, it won't show 32. If you have 64, it will. So, if you don't see either, you have 32 bit.)

Let me know if you have any questions.

Hi!

That cam is also called QuickCam 8.4.8
You can download the drivers here:
http://download.cnet.com/Logitech-QuickCam-IM/3000-18493_4-92790.html?tag=mncol

That cam is only compatible with XP, 2000, ME and win98. NOT for vista
Good luck

Access the manufacturer's web-site, and download the software from their web-site. Or, from that web-site, order a replacement CD.

Do i need a disk to start useing the webcam orwhat happan once i plugin thewebcam

Try having the webcam connected and then powering up the system. Depending on your version of Windows and the design age of the webcam, Windows may automatically install the driver for it. During the boot, a window should appear in the lower right corner informing you that it has 'found a new device' and is installing the software for it. If it does not have the driver in its library, Windows will instruct you to insert a disc. If all else fails, you can download the required software from the Logitech website.

I changed my os to window 7 and my webcam is not working at all.

Unfortunately Logitech do not support Windows 7 for older products - You can try downloading software and running the cam in Compatibility Mode
Visit the Logitech website and browse the photo gallery for your model and click on the photo to navigate to the support page.
Note - Older models on page 2 - look for the link at the bottom right of page 1 and click on it "Still can't find your product?"

http://www.logitech.com/index.cfm/405/&cl=us,en?prodcrid=405

In addition to the Logitech installer you will need to run the support software - Microsoft DirectX . This comes pre-loaded on most Windows computers but has to be updated - I am currently on version 11
To start the DirectX Diagnostic Tool, click Start, click Run, type dxdiag in the Open box, and then click OK.

Procedure to re-install Logitech software
Close all programs while uninstalling - downloading and uploading software
Disconnect your webcam
Uninstall the current webcam software on your computer
Restart computer
Download the Installation package from Logitech
Run the installer and choose your options during the installation - You may not want Logitech Chat but the Desktop icon for the webcam toolbar is a must.
Connect your webcam when prompted.

Right click on the webcam icon on your desktop or the webcam file from 'All Programs' - select 'Properties'
Select the 'Compatibility' tab
Select 'Compatibility Mode'
Use the dropbox to show the OS you have successfully used before
Click OK
Restart your computer

Can't install Logitech Webcam Software

Get the new drivers and new version of the software here:
http://www.logitech.com/en-us/435/5865?section=downloads&bit=&osid=1
click on the "Download" button and then double-click on the file you downloaded and follow the on-screen instructions to install the newest version of drivers and downloads. Note: you may have an option to repair-install instead of doing a fresh install because you have the older version of the software. If you do see this option, try that first and if it doesn't work completely uninstall the software and reinstall a fresh version from the file you downloaded.
Your webcam will now work with all of your software extras.

I do have a logitech webcam,but dont have a software to install.where do i get a free software to download?here's my logitech M/N :V-UAM27

Hi,

Here is the things you have to do:

1. Download QuickCam 8.4.8 with driver for WinXP.

2. Install WinRAR if not already installed yet.

3. Open the setup installer qc848enu.exe and unpack its contents to a folder.
Alternatively, right click on qc848enu.exe and select Extract to qc848enuoption.

4. Insert or plug in the Logitech QuickCam Messenger to a USB port if not already done so.

5. An Driver Software Installationã icon in systray (notification area) should appear, which will pop up detailed message if click. It should fail, and ã¢ï¿½ï¿½Add Hardware Wizardã¢ï¿½ï¿½ dialog window will appear.

Choose to install the driver manually by instructing the Wizard to locate and look for the web cam driver inside the Drivers folder under the unpacked folder of the qc848enu.exe setup program. You can use browser button to select the folder.

6. Windows Vista should grab the XP driver and install it properly.

7. Download the latest version (10.5.1) of Vista compliant QuickCam software from Logitech to install the software on Vista.

http://www.logitech.com/index.cfm/435/3779&hub=1&cl=roeu,en?section=downloads&bit=&osid=1

8. Run the setup (qc1051enu) normally. You may need to skip the detection of webcam near the end of installation process.

Haveing trouble installing logitech quick cam onto my comuptor thats running windows vista

This problem was caused by a compatibility issue between Windows Vista and Logitech QuickCam Messenger.
Logitech QuickCam Messenger was created by Logitech, Inc..
Recommendation
—————-
To search for similar devices that are compatible with this version of Windows, visit the Windows Vista Hardware Compatibility List website online.
However, it’s not totally out of hope for owner of Logitech QuickCam Messenger who has upgraded to Windows Vista. The following hack will use Windows XP driver (a common trick to use non Vista compliant device) to install the webcam in Vista:
  1. Download QuickCam 8.4.8 with driver for WinXP.
  2. Install WinRAR if not already installed yet.
  3. Open the setup installer qc848enu.exe and unpack its contents to a folder. Alternatively, right click on qc848enu.exe and select “Extract to qc848enu\” option.
  4. Insert or plug in the Logitech QuickCam Messenger to a USB port if not already done so.
  5. An “Driver Software Installation” icon in systray (notification area) should appear, which will pop up detailed message if click. It should fail, and “Add Hardware Wizard” dialog window will appear.
  8. Run the setup (qc1051enu) normally. You may need to skip the detection of webcam near the end of installation process.
Voila, you can now use the Logitech webcam to capture images or use it in conjunction with video chat in IM programs such as Windows Live (MSN) Messenger, AIM Messenger, Yahoo! Messenger, Skype or run Logitech VideoCall.

i hope thist post can solve your problem

thank's
