Rings maybe?? Run it till it smokes then remove a couple of glow plugs & inspect the bores to look for evidence of oil. Does it smoke when u first start it too?? Or only once it has warmed up??

There is oil come, ing out of the exhust why but the engine seems to be running well

did you check your oil level??.if you put to much oil in the engine it cause a lot of damage. But if oil levels are ok,then the engine might be worn what mileage has it got if you think all this is ok ,then it could be a number of things,a blocked intake turbo pipe,a blocked air filter, oil cooler radiator needs power washed its in front of the main radiator, sender switch on the turbo, check these thing out and if you want to let me know the outcome, yours adrian,,,,,

Saab 9-3 diesel 120, My turbo charger is load and whe given a bit of throttle 2 overtake ect.. lots of black smoke piles out the back and sometimes e turbo will stop workin untill u tur the car of and back...

The turbo will not cause black smoke. White smoke, yes, if its passing oil into the engine, but not black.
First check that the air intake and filter is not blocked, check that the air hoses from the turbo and intercooler are not collapsing when given throttle.if thats ok, then get the injectors tested, if they are ok then you need to get the injection pump serviced. Black smoke is a result of overfuelling, either by the poor dispersal of fuel from the injectors or the pump, or blockage of air into the engine on the intake system.
Hope that helps

this symptom sometimes points to a bad turbo seal leaking oil, or it could be bad valve seals if it has a lot of miles could be valve seals does engine oil dissappear quickly if it does than its could be either when hot the turbo seal expends and stops leaking . there are ways to test each problem

Turbo loud whistling and lots of smoke coming out of the exhaust

OK now what i am going to tell you, you need to listen to....
sounds like your turbo is on the way out and need to be repaired or replaced
if you continue driving the car the spool may snap and go into your motor and that will cost you a new motor
stop driving it...
if you need to don't push the car be soft
diesels are not a good car to push anyway
take it and get it fixed or you will be out of pocket for some time
i have had this happen here and it is not worth the damage

When the supra is started for the first time lots and lots of white smoke comes out the exhaust for the first minute it drives me mad

Hi, sounds like you need to replace your valve seals or if yours is the turbo the sealing rings in the turbo are worn.
What happens is that oil over night or when the engine is stopped runs into the intake of the engine in small amounts then when the engine is started the oil is burnt hence white smoke.
Check each spark plug in each cyclinder to see is one of them or all of them charred with black burnt oil deposits.
In one plug has more than the rest you can be rest asured it is the valve seals.
If it is the turbo version it has to be the turbo sealing rings.
Best to replace the turbo in this case as it is only a mater of time before it goes. this as we always say is the warning light on it telling us that its days are numbered.

Very smokey (smelly) exhaust

Grey-ish smoke sounds like rich mixture, not oil burning.Grey-to black is usually excess fuel.Whitish smoke is coolant being burned-bad news! If rich mixture, check for air intake leaks (air intake hoses/manifiold gasket),MAF,fuel pressure regulator.
