Hello, I have in front of me a catalog for Valu-Bilt.Com, a tractor supply company for all makes. Your Seal can be one of several depending on the Serial number of your tractor. There phone number is 1-888-828-3276.

The Catalog I have shows a Model 35, but I see you have a Model 30. I believe the transmissions were different between the 30 and 35, but see no reason for the rear end to change. The later Model 35 had more gears like a Sherman unit. The Model 35 had a model with 2 extra forward gears and the model used as a Front Loader had 2 extra in both Forward and Reverse.

Now Ferguson and Ford were similar, with the Ferguson having more innovations. Check with a Ford Dealer for PTO seals. The Continental engine was desired as it had Overhead valves and more power over the Ford.

You may also get lucky with Tractor Supply who carry some parts. One additional thing is the number of teeth on the PTO shaft. The book shows a 17 tooth, 25 Spline as 1868528M1 for the Model 30 PTO shaft. The Model 35 has 10 Splines in both a 17 and 19 tooth shaft.

So it is possible you may not even have the original PTO seal if someone put in a part for a Model T35.

Leak oil from underneith where the shaft comes out of the engine


If you look at the bottom of the engine, if you see oil on the large shaft coming out of the engine where the blade is attached, the PTO or crankshaft seal is leaking. It can be replace without taking the engine apart, but you'll need to remove the blade and adapter from the crankshaft, which can be difficult without the proper tools. You'll also have to remove the old seal, with a seal puller, or by using a couple self-tapping sheet metal screws into the outer metal part of the seal. You then would pry on the screw heads to remove the seal. Replace with a new one after cleaning out the bottom of the crankcase. Clean the PTO so that the new seal is not damaged as it is slid into place. You can use a length of plastic pipe to drive the new seal into place. Replace adapter and blade. Check oil level before use.
Oh, be sure it is not the drain plug, as it may have been left a bit loose if the oil was recently changed.

provided you have not got any cracks in the sump plate and the sump plate bolts are tight

sounds like you have a worn out pto seal ( please check pto for bend or wobble ) as this could have caused this from hitting something solid

it it is bent have it straightened before proceeding

remove the blade carrier and hub and key - clean up the pto with emery tape , drain oil , use a straight shaft flat blade screwdriver and lever the seal out of position

obtain a new seal place some thin plastic sheet ( from say a thin walled plastic container )
cut into a size that you can wrap around pto , then slide the seal over it up to the opening ,
the drive the seal into the housing squarely until the seal is flush with the housing ( on a non stepped pto ) 7/8 shaft

but on a stepped pto 25 mm drive it in further until its about 3 mm below the housing

reassemble and refill with oil

Removal
  1. Remove the axle shaft; refer to Axle Shaft in this section.
Axle Shaft Removal

    Loosen the lug nuts (1012).
    1. Remove the center cap.

  1. Use Axle Seal Replacer with Driver Handle to install the axle shaft oil seal.

The electric pto keeps kicking off, after about 10 to 15 seconds. shut the pto off turn it back on, then does it again, & again, ect.


The PTO motor may be bad, but first check the motor shaft for debris caught on it, check the drive wheels, the drive chain and lubricate the wheel bearings and chain(ATF or Snthetic oil)a few drops go a long way. A few drops of oil on the motor shaft where is goes into the motor might help as well. Electric parts usually do not like water(you may need to remove a cover to access the motor and bearings)blow the motor with an air hose if available to remove debris from it. I hope this is helpful the model number and make would make a diagnosis easier on this end. Thanks, SP

How do you remove right rear axle on a 2004 ford crown vic to replace seal on wheel?


Section 05-02A: Axle, Integral Carrier — 8.8-Inch Ring Gear 1994 Town Car, Crown Victoria/Grand Marquis. Workshop Manual REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION Axle Shaft NOTE: Whenever replacing the rear axle lubricant, use Rear Axle Lubricant XY-90-QL (ESP-M2C154-A) or equivalent.
Removal
sra~us~en~file=ani_caut.gif~gen~ref.gif CAUTION: The rear brake anti-lock sensor must be removed before the axle shafts are removed. The rear brake anti-lock sensor is bolted on the rear disc brake caliper anchor plate.
  1. Raise vehicle to desired working height. Refer to Section 00-02 . Remove rear wheel (1007) and tire assembly. Remove rear disc brake calipers (2552) and rear disc brake rotors (2C026) .




  1. Clean all dirt from area of axle housing cover with a wire brush and/or cloth.
  1. Drain rear axle lubricant by removing the axle housing cover .
  1. Remove differential pinion shaft lock pin and differential pinion shaft .

  1. Push flanged end of the axle shafts toward the center of the vehicle and remove the rear axle shaft retaining u-washer from the button end of the axle shaft .



  1. Remove axle shaft from the rear axle housing , being careful not to damage the inner wheel bearing oil seal (1177) and rear brake anti-lock sensor ring.
Installation
NOTE: Check for presence of rear axle shaft o-ring (4A332) on the spline end of the shaft and install if not present.

  1. Carefully slide axle shaft into rear axle housing without damaging rear wheel bearing (1225) or rear brake anti-lock sensor indicator (2C189) . Start splines into side gear and push firmly until the button end of axle shaft can be seen in the differential case .
  1. Install the rear axle shaft retaining u-washer on the button end of the axle shaft splines, then pull the shaft outboard until the shaft splines engage and the rear axle shaft retaining u-washer seats in the counterbore of the differential side gear .
  1. Position the differential pinion shaft through the differential case and differential pinion gears , aligning the hole in the differential pinion shaft with the lock bolt hole. Apply Rear Axle Lubricant to differential pinion shaft lock pin . Install differential pinion shaft lock pin and tighten to 20-41 Nm (15-30 lb-ft). sra~us~en~file=ani_caut.gif~gen~ref.gif CAUTION: Differential pinion shaft lock pin must be tightened to specification using Stud and Bearing Mount E0AZ-19554-BA (WSK-M2G349-A1) or equivalent.




    NOTE: Axle housing cover must be installed within 15 minutes of application of the silicone rubber or new silicone rubber must be applied.

Inside of axle must be covered when cleaning the machined surface to prevent axle contamination. Tighten the cover bolts in a crosswise pattern to ensure uniform draw on axle housing cover .
  1. Apply Silicone Rubber D6AZ-19562-AA or BA (ESB-M4G92-A or ESE-M4G195-A) or equivalent. Install axle housing cover and tighten retaining bolts to 28-38 Nm (38-52 lb-ft).



  1. Add Motorcraft Rear Axle Lubricant XY-90-QL or KL (ESP-M2C154-A) or equivalent until it is 6-14mm (1/4-9/16 inch) below bottom of fill hole. Add 118.3 mL (4 oz) of Ford Additive Friction Modifier C8AZ-19B546-A (EST-M2C118-A) or equivalent to Traction-Lok axles. Install fill plug and tighten to 20-41 Nm (15-30 lb-ft).
  1. Install rear brake anti-lock sensor indicator . Tighten retaining bolt to 4.5-6.8 Nm (40-60 lb-in).
  1. Install rear disc brake caliper and rear disc brake rotor .
  1. Install wheels and tires.

  1. Insert Rear Bearing Remover T85L-1225-AH in bore and position it behind bearing so tangs on tool engage bearing outer race. Remove rear wheel bearing and inner wheel bearing oil seal as a unit, using Impact Slide Hammer T50T-100-A.

  1. Lubricate the rear wheel bearing with Rear Axle Lubricant.



  1. Install rear wheel bearing into the housing bore using Axle Tube Bearing Replacer T78P-1225-A.

Oil seal


1. Remove the acorn nut, hex nut, and washer that hold the "planetary" agitator section on the transmission shaft.
2. Remove the trim ring (if any) around the same.
3. The agitator section should now be able to be worked free.
4. Remove the retainer clip on the top of the agitator shaft. (Some models have a pair of hex nuts here; if so, remove those.)
5. Pry the gear up and off the shaft. Remove the square key from the shaft keyway at the same time.
6. Tap gently on the top of the agitator shaft to drive it out from the bearings and grease seal.
7. Recommend removing and replacing the top bearing at this time; it's inexpensive to replace, if you're in this deep.
8. Use a suitable diameter piece of round steel stock to drive out the lower bearing and oil seal. I don't recommend using the agitator shaft.
9. Clean thoroughly, insert a new bottom bearing and oil seal, drive in place with a rubber mallet.
10. Replace agitator shaft through oil seal and bearing, tap gently into place.
11. Fill cavity with approved lubricant. I use USP-grade mineral oil, as it is food-safe and provides satisfactory lubricity.
11. Install top bearing, tap gently into place.
12. Reverse steps 5-1 to reassemble.
