It is a head failure with the drive. The way to resolve is sending it back to Western Digital for replacement. Of course, if there was any important data on the drive, you would need to use a professional data recovery company to get it back.

SOURCE: I have freestanding Series 8 dishwasher. Lately during the filling cycle water hammer is occurring. How can this be resolved

Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

Western digital my book 1tb is clicking, can I recover the data?

Clicking Hard drive When a hard disk makes a clicking sound and the computer does not detect it then the hard disk is faulty. This is commonly known as "The click of death".
There is no way of fixing this hard drive, if you need to recover your data, then there are companies that can recover data off faulty hard drives BUT it will cost you an arm and a leg for their services.

After "cleaning up my computer", it no longer

I PERSONALLY DO NOT USE C C CLEANER THE MOST POPULAR. I DO USE AUSLOGICS FREE REGISTRY CLEANER. WELL HOPE YOU DID A DISK CLEANUP. NOW GO TO ADMINISTRATIVE TOOLS, COMPUTER MANAGEMENT, UNDER STORAGE CLICK DISK MANAGEMENT, WAIT A FEW SECONDS THEN ENLARGE THE PAGE. SEE IF YOU CAN SEE YOUR DRIVE. IF YOU CAN, RIGHT CLICK IT, SEE IF YOU MARK PARTITION AS ACTIVE. AND REBOOT. AND REMEMBER SOMETIMES TOO MUCH CLEANING CAN LEAD TO TROUBLE. ................HOPE THIS HELPS......JEFFXC

sounds like you are using the wrong power supply. Check the amp output on the power plug you plug into the wall make sure its the same as the amp input of your external harddrive

1TB external hard disk does not appear in XP

right click on my computer and select manage.
Go to disk administrator. Right click the drive and have it put an ntfs partition on it. It will then show up in my computer.
