What's the solution for the long black background with crusader on startup windows 7 ?

Click Start and type msconfig into the search bar->load msconfig->go to startup->untick all the unnecessary tasks.

Next try updating your graphics driver, use driver booster from majorgeeks if you're not sure how.

If this doesn't work use IObit Advanced system care to clean your system.

Failing that, reinstall windows and start again.
failing that get a SSD drive or new harddrive compatible for your system

When I turn on the computer, it has a gray screen with a loading bar that says "Windows is loading files". And then, it doesn't ever move from that screen. Help?

Try disabling startup programs. Go to Start > Run (search in Win 7) and type MSConfig. In Startup tab, uncheck anything that you don't want Windows to load automatically. It will make Windows boot faster and use less resources while running. This just disables them in startup. Programs will still load, but when only you initiate.

Bootmrg is missing

I suggest that you perform a Startup Repair.
Method 1: Startup Repair
1. Please insert the Windows Vista/7 DVD and reboot the computer.
2. When we are prompted to press a key to boot from the DVD, please press Enter or the space bar.
3. Choose your language settings, and then click Next.
4. Click Repair your computer.
5. Select the operating system you want to repair, and then click Next.
6. On the System Recovery Options menu, click Startup Repair. Startup Repair might prompt you to make choices as it tries to fix the problem, and if necessary, it might restart your computer as it makes repairs.

Access the link below for more information about startup repair:
http://windowshelp.microsoft.com/Windows/en-US/help/5c59f8c1-b0d1-4f1a-af55-74f3922f3f351033.mspx

You can also try "Rebuild BCD".

Method 2: Rebuild BCD
1. Put the Windows Vista/7 installation disc in the disc drive, and then start the computer.
2. Press a key when the message indicating "Press any key to boot from CD or DVD ...". appears.
3. Select a language, a time, a currency, and a keyboard or another input method, and then click Next.
4. Click Repair your computer.
5. (Click the operating system that you want to repair), and then click Next.
6. In the System Recovery Options dialog box, click Command Prompt.
7. Type bcdboot c:\windows /l en-us, and then press ENTER.
Note: C:\ should be changed to the default partition you installed Windows Vista/7.

Dell latitude D610 will not unmute

    • 1 Click on the speaker icon in the system tray of your windows 7 screen, located in the task tray by the system clock. This will cause a volume adjustment screen to pop up. Drag the volume slider to adjust the volume higher or lower.

    • 2

Right-click on the speaker icon and select "Open Volume Mixer" to manually adjust the volume of each device separately, using the same method as in step 1.

    • 3

Right-click the speaker icon and select "Sounds" to change which sounds play for specific events, such as Windows Startup, Windows Logon and System Notification. This should bring you directly to the "Sounds" tab of the sound menu, where you can click the program event from the list and change the sound using the drop-down menu at the bottom. You can choose "(None)" to disable the sound.

Icons and start upmenu bar absent

explorer.exe is what displays the icons and the startup bar on the screen so try opening explorer.exe from the task manager. Or if it is already running close it and then reopen it.
