Question about NetGear WNR2000 Wireless Router

Open Question

I have a net gear wnr2000v2 and im having problems with the router. I woke up one morning to turn on my computer and the internet is stuck on local only. I checked the router and the 2nd light is plain orange (the one with the i symbol with a half circle under it). I turned off the router and my computer is connected to the internet due to a usb cable also being connected via the modem into the computer. The problem seems to be the router when turned on it would straight lose connection and go local with no internet connection whatsoever. I need some help.

b. Connect the computer to one of the four LAN ports (i.e port 1, 2, 3 or 4) on the back of the router. The corresponding port light where you connected the computer should be lit up.

2. Access the router's web-based utility.

a. Please open any web browser like Internet Explorer or Netscape Navigator.
b. Connect to the router by typing or in the address field and click Enter or Return key.

SOURCE: Cannot connect to the internet using NetGear

I understand that you are not able to go online through your NETGEAR router (WGR614v8). I apologize for the inconvenience you have experienced. Since we are doing this online, it may require a few email exchanges before we can resolve the issue. Please be assured that I will do my best effort to help resolve your case in the least amount of time.
Regarding your concern, I would recommend you to please reset and reconfigure your router (MODEL NUMBER). It is in this context, please follow the procedure stated below to configure the router:

1. Connect an Ethernet cable from the modem to the WAN port of the router (isolated port).
2. Connect the computer to the router using any one of the 4 available (LAN) ports. Please make sure that THERE IS NO DIRECT CONNECTION BETWEEN THE MODEM AND THE COMPUTERS (either using Ethernet cable or USB cable).

11. It should give you a 'Dynamic IP Detected'. Once you get 'Dynamic IP' click on Next.
12. On the next page, click on 'Apply'.

I can not get connected. Woke up this morning and no internet conection, local only and the conection is refered to as Network.

Hello, the local only means you have connection to the router but the router does not have connection to either the modem. Did you try resetting the modem?
Turn off both devices (router and modem) turn the router on first. Then turn the modem. Wait a minute or so and the router should get the IP from the modem and it should work.
If you still have no luck, it means there's something wrong with either the modem or the actual connection from the ISP.
I hope this helps.
