Toshiba P25 cannot read cd

Make sure it has power (ejects). Check Device Manager in Safe Mode by pressing F8 during boot. Right click My Computer > Manage. Select Device Manager > View > Show Hidden Devices. Now delete all DVD/CD-ROMs and reboot. Windows will say "New Hardware Found" and install. Check BIOS by pressing F key (correct F key is noted during boot) and make sure BIOS see's the Optical Drive.

I have a black screen on my Toshiba Satellite P 35 - S605 laptop. This just happened suddenly, one day it was working then, nothing. I have tried hooking to an external monitor and there is still nothing....

HI There,

If you're getting a black screen with an external monitor your video card has failed. The odds are high that on the Toshiba, if it has an actual video card with committed VRAM, the card will be soldered to the motherboard and the replacement of the motherboard will be necessarry.

I really wish I had better news for you.

Regards,

Selk

The monitor on my Toshiba P25-S5093 does not have any display of any kind; all black. I have display using external monitor.

Hi,
Does the display show anything before you enter windows? If yes, then press the key to transfer video back to your original screen once you enter windows. It should be the function key "Fn" + F5 - F8. looks for the icon which shows a monitor or says "CRT/LCD".
If it doesn't show anything before you enter windows I'm afraid your screen needs to be replaced. Good luck.

Which video card update can use?

The driver for your described product can be found by clicking the link below:
http://www.csd.toshiba.com/cgi-bin/tais/support/jsp/modelContent.jsp?ct=SB&os=&category=&moid=608967&rpn=PSP20U&modelFilter=P25-S5093&selCategory=2756709&selFamily=1073768663
Click on the "Downloads" tab and select your OS from the "Refine search by" drop-down menu.
There are two downloads available for your product: one dated 2003 and the other 2004. The latest driver available (2004) would be the best choice.

Toshiba satellite p25 s5093. won't boot.

The system cannot find your hard drive so it is trying to boot from the next device which is thinks is a network drive. Check the attachment of the hard drive, sometimes they can come loose from the interface. Remove the hard drive and place it back. If the machine still cannot read the drive, try another hard drive to see if the drive is the problem or is it a problem with the interface. Make sure to remove any discs from the cd/dvd players and make sure no usb network adapters are in it while booting. Check the boot order again.

Why will my lap top not turn on

There's a tiny pin at the base of the screen, on the laptop. Use canned air to blow it out, clicking in. Press it in and let it release quickly. The tiniest speck of dirt will prevent the switch from making contact.

Toshiba satellite p25-s509

I think this is already a hardware problem, it could be your LCD or your systemboard, try connecting an external LCD or monitor thru the VGA -out & check if you have a display. If not, it might be your systemboard that's causing the problem & this may require service.

Hope this helps.
