Question about LG Computers & Internet

Open Question

I just got an LG Flatron W2361V to hook up to my mac book pro. I have it set up with a DVI cord, and DVI to mini converter. The LG screen shows fuzzy lines going across. Is this a problem with the cords of the monitor?

First, fire up monitor in VGA. You can then use the monitor menu to select the hdmi instead of vga. Restart andf it should work Ok.

SOURCE: Acer AL2002W Monitor problem

a monitor that flashes on for a second and then turns off is a sign of a bad capacitor, or multiple bad capacitors.  If it is no longer under warranty you can fix it for a few dollars at the electronics store.  Unplug the monitor, pull the back off.  Look for the capacitors.  They are the round water tower looking things.  The top of the bad ones will usually be bulging, or leaking.  (the top should be flat).
Grab a soldering iron, and be sure to note the polarity (there will be a dash on one side of it, like on a battery) so that you can put the new ones in the same way.  Putting them in backwards will likely toast the monitor so get this right.  heat up the solder joints and pull the capacitors off.  Take them to an electronics store, and buy new ones. ( the capacity and voltage need to match. 12V 500uf  ... something like that, match the numbers on your capacitor(s) not the numbers I wrote here!
grab your soldering iron again, and making sure to use enough solder, but not too much put in your new capacitor(s).
I hope this is helpfull to folks.

How do i hook my samsung spl300 projector to my mac book pro

You can connect your Projector with the Mac Book Pro; However the problem is, mac comes with a DVI connector and your projector uses a VGA one.
You need to buy a DVI to VGA adapter from Apple if you don't have one already. You can buy it from the local apple stores or an online apple store.
There are two types of DVI-VGA adapters available (Please check the below images and see which one fits your Mac and go for it). Apple DVI to VGA Display Adapter
Apple Mini DVI to VGA Adapter Once you decided which one you need, go to an apple store or online apple shop and buy one.

No image on screen

Make sure the monitor is working first. Try hook it up to a regular PC. If it works on a regular PC then make sure your Macbook's output is setup to show the video onto an external monitor.

If you can't get the monitor to show video on a regular pc then that means the monitor is bad.

It may just be possible that DVI signal does not convert to HDMI signal. So in theory this may not be possilbe for you to get a result with your present attempt. May i suggest connecting to the DVI port of the TV. i.e Mini Display to DVI.
