Question about RTO PasLode 900420 Impulse Framing Nailer

Open Question

I have an Paslode IM250 F-16 nailer. The spring negator fell out next to the follower when I was disassembling the unit for cleaning. The schematic does not show where its exact location on the rail is. Can you provide some insight on exactly where it gets installed and how?

Be sure to remove the metal nose piece that covers the lockout bar when assembled. It may be stuck to the other half of the gun. Replace the bar and the spring and put the metal nose piece in its position over the lockout bar. At this point the metal nose piece will be on the opposite side. This will allow you to replace the 2 halves carefully so as not to loose the spring.

SOURCE: IM250 Paslode straight brad nailer, fan wont shut off

My paselode was doing the same thing, and I followed all of the cleaning instructions, but the problem continued.

If it was left alone for a minute, it would fire again, so I removed the cover over the trigger assy, and checked the spark plug wire connection. The trigger came out, and during reassembly, I noticed that the electrical switch was hanging, and slowly pushing back out.

I cleaned and lightly spray/oiled the switch pin, and voila.........works like a charm.

Paslode 900400. Is there a video that shows you where to install the negator spring?

On this model the negator spring sits right inside the nail carrier - the end with the hole is held in by the front magazine screw.

Paslode im350 fires every time, but nails dont come out

Unless you have the wrong nails or a problem with the feeder and/or feeder spring it is probably dirty and the driver is hanging up on the cylinder. These tools need to be cleaned and lubed after using them for some time. If you look on Paslode's website there is a manual that explains how to do it. There are also videos on YouTube that show this. It is somewhat complicated and the tool has to be disassembled quite a bit. If you don't feel comfortable doing this work then you may want to want a servicing dealer that repairs these tools. There is a rubber o-ring on the head and a filter on the top that should be replaced too. Here is a link to the cleaning guide.

Lockout Follower bar and spring location for Paslode 900420 Nailer

you can try going to paslode.com and downloading a breakdown of this tool. The lockout bar and spring go under the metal plate on the side where the pusher spring is. You have to remove the nose piece (2 screws) and lift the metal plate. Towards the bottom there is a slot that the spring goes in and as you are holding the spring push on the back side and lay the lockout bar in place. Replace the metal plate and hold in place to ensure these parts more freely. Reassemble tool. Let me know if you need more assistance.

I have taken apart my paslode impulse framing nailer to remove a nail that had got lodged in the nail channel,i removed the lodged nail, but now have a part and a small spring that im not sure where they...

they go under the plate where the follower is. What you need to do is remove the screws that hold the channel to the side where the follower is located and then lift the steel plate up. Pull back on the follower and the lockout bar and spring fit into a recess that you will see (once you get it to this point you will see what I am talking about), set the spring and bar into the recess and push it a couple times to make sure installed properly. replace the laarge steel plate and hold in place while reassembing the nose piece (4 screws, 2 on each side) and then reassemble the rest of the tool. Let me know if you need more assistance. If I have helped you would you please vote accordingly, Thank you

Friend took my 900420 nailer apart to clean it and when he got done, had a small spring about 3/16" x 1" left over. Does anyone have a clue where it might go?

Thin spring?
Goes in-between the Follower Guide and Button.
There are several Coil springs used in a Paslode 900420 framing nailer.

1.In-between the Upper Probe and the Lower Probe.
(Safety device you depress so the gun will shoot)
2.Trigger
3.Lockout Bar
4.Follower Guide and Button

(There is a flat spring also. Goes in-between the Probe Stop and Probe Release)

Here let me show you,

Paslode cordless framing nailer model 325 (black)

the fan is what returns the valve in the chamber, whilst it may have been lubed it must be spotless in the chamber. Use paslode gun cleaner a clean cloth and the handle of a wooden spoon or similar and clean all residue and grime out of chamber and re lube. Or you just have a dead tool that was used for parts! good luck
