Hai,
try this
after charging the battery fully, take it out and and with a small piece of wire just rub across the +ve and -ve pins of the battery.
if it produces fairly good spark u can assume that the battery is having good health. otherwise no other choice u have to change the battery.
Also u can try this battery in another laptop and check to confirm whether it is battery trouble or anything else.
good luck

Hi, I bought Acer4741Z from India on September 2010............now, when i charge the laptop, it shows 52% charging and it wont go till 100 %. Any solution for this............pls help..............

When you first bought the laptop did you fully charge the battery for at least 20-24 hours before use? To ensure the lifespan of your laptop battery is long you will need to follow these easy steps:

1) Charge the battery at least 20 hours before use.
2) Completely drain battery power before you charge it again.
3) Try not to have the laptop battery plugged in if you re going to use AC directly from the wall socket.

You may need to purchase a new battery as this one's lifespan seems to have been reduced as it can only hold 52% charge. When you purchase another follow the above steps.

My laptop computer ibm t42 does not charge the battery

Hello....those T40 series laptops which I use to support at a previous job. They would often develop these same issues. We would often keep them in stock because after a while the batteries just don't hold a charge. Its not that the laptop is not charging them. The battery simply does not hold the charge.
