Hi there, this is unfortunately usually a sign of the Yellow Light Of Death (YLOD). When the PS3 was originally made Sony used lead free solder in their consoles. Lead free solder is not as flexible as normal leaded solder and over time due to expansion and contraction because of heat given off by the console's components lots of PS3's failed. You have got a couple of options, you can either have the console professionally repaired which is going to cost around £50. If the console is out of warranty Sony will only replace it for a cost of around £130. As a last resort if you are good with electrical items you might want to have a go at repairing it yourself. If you google YLOD you will find plenty of guides that will instruct you on how you can repair it yourself.

Please bear in mind that once a console has the YLOD there is NO guarantee as to how long a repair will last, it could be a couple of hours to a couple of years.

I hope this information helps you and I hope you get your PS3 up and running soon.

The power turned of randomly and when i attempt to turn it back on it flahes different colored lights and then turns itself back off

you have what is known as the yellow light of death,2 ways to a quick solution.
1) turn the power off at the back, hold down the power or eject buttom on the front, cant remember what one is is now and then turn power back on at the back, keep it held down and the fan will kick in for about 20 secs.
2) sounds weird this one but it works, wrap the ps3 in towels or blankets but leave the vents exposed, then put a hairdryer to the vents and heat it up for 10/15 mins, mine worked for 4 months after this fix

It comes on and a yellow light flashes and then it goes back off

Take the hard drive out of the system and then put it back in. Sometimes the yellow light comes on because the hard drive becomes unseated.

Try turning on the system and if the yellow light comes on, try another hard drive in the PS3.

If the yellow light still comes on then you know that the main board in the ps3 is bad.

Will not power on I tried turning it off and then on again. The

Well, is this your first time turning on your ps3 to your tv, if so then what you have to do is turn off the switch in the back of the ps3 and then hold your finger on the power button, then turn on the switch at the back of the ps3, and wait for 2 clicks then it should set the ps3 to your tv.

Comes on beeps twice yellow light comes on and then shuts off?

Hi my name is Juan and I have an answer for you your playstation is dead no matter how many times you try to turn it on it would not come on at all is similar to the xbox360 ring of dead but 75% of ps3's can be fixed with a special system the VGA needs to be re balling this means lifting the VGA out of the motherboard and then fix the broken connections under it and then install the VGA back it is a complicated task but with the right tools t gets little easier I do this type of job I am a trusted ebay power seller so you know who you are dealing with my ebay user name is flacooo1 and charge $70dls but only if I can fix it if it does not work no charge are you interested??
