Question about Washing Machines

Open Question

I have a Thomson TX 718 N toploading washing machine. My son thought he had latched the doors on the drum, and then rotated it by hand. Evidently the doors were not latched, and have now wedged the drum in the downward position. (I don't know why he did it, except to say that he is a 13 yr old inquisitive boy!) Is there some way to un-wedge the open doors and rotate the drum back to the top? Thank you.

SOURCE: My Hotpoint Aquarius WF210 washing machine drum is not rotating

I think the belt has come off or has been damaged.

To open the machine slide out the machine. On the back panel lower 1/3 you will see a plastic panel remove the screws and the panel will come away. Inside you will see the belt. I suspect you will need to reattach the belt of remove it and buy a replacement.

Whirlpool washer was\is locked. My husband was able to get the door open but now the door won't latch.

If it's a frontloader, go to Sears and get another latch for it snapped when forced open. If a toploader, don't concern yourself with the latch. I broke mine a long time ago and connected the wires together and I have no problem. Lid stays down anyway.

Yes thats a common problem, nowdays its usually because we use the cold wash cycle more,my son has a similar problem with his toploader, so what I recommended was that he boil several buckets of water, fill the machine up higher than usual, add some bleach and a few good handfuls of salt, and run the machine thro a full long cycle.I seemed to work as he hasent complained since doing that, I guess one would need to do that on a regular basis, perhaps every couple of months, hope that helps.

I have a LG topload intellowash WF-T7516LS as soon as i switch on the machine the water fills in and then it just shows dE pls help

dE stands for Door open Error. Your door is not closed properly or the door switch is not activated. Try to press the door firmly. If the error does not go then you will have to check the door latch, notch ( a protruding part which goes inside to latch & activate door switch) & the door switch for any damage. For Top load machines the notch is near the hinges & inside the machine.

Quite old admiral mega 22 plus topload washer. the machine did not agitate after filling up. I tried various points on the 3 cycle types and it did not spin either. My son tried moving the agitator and...

Yes sounds like you have now disturbed the seal and will need a new one, remove the agitator and inner drum to get at the seals, to remove the agitator pull off the softner cap and remove bolt form down inside.
To remove the inner drum, the top part of the washer needs to be hinged back to gain access, to do this insert a flat balde 4" from each side at the seam with the front panel to release the clips, lid will now hinge back to give access to the drums, on the outer dum there are clips all the way round to remove the top section of the outer drum release these. remove the bolts under agitator to remove the inner drum. you should have access to the seals but it has been a while.
Reason for not agitating in first place is probably the water level switch at the rear of the drum with a small 8mm hose connecting it to the drum.

Bosch WFMC3200UC

I'm having a hard time understanding what is happening with my Bosch. Mine is filling and then immediately emptying out. Then the door unlocks but the timer indicates 45 minutes left (or so) and the door lock light is still on. Usually the only cycle that spins now is the spin cycle, but this doesn't help me get the soap out of the clothes still in the drum.

When the machine fills but doesn't rotate, the water level seems low as well. I had a repair man out who thought it might be the door latch sensor needing replacing (honestly, my toddler was pushing that button repeatedly), but I don't think that's it.

What does work: I unplug it for a while. Then if I'm lucky and the laundry Gods are shining down on me, I can wash normally (usually I'm luckier on Permanent Press but I always used to use the Cotton side). However, once I turn the machine "off," that's it all the problems persist so I have to wash it all, one load after another.
