Make sure battery and charging system are working properly. If charging system is not effectively charging the battery and the battery runs low on charge, the vehicle will start shutting down different electrical units/modules in order to keep the vehicle running

Sounds like the starter may have some issues. However, the headlights and radio not coming on is a sign that either the battery is not charged up sufficiently, or there are some blown fuses.

Also, the connections should be checked at the battery for corrosion which can block the electricity from flowing freely from a 'charged' battery to the starter or the lights.

Good luck on this repair.

The radio will not turn on and when I charge it and turn it on when its charging it makes popping sounds. Also charger light will not come on when it is plugged in.

The two items that most commonly cause this problem are a bad charger or a bad battery. First try putting the radio in a different charger. If the problem persists, swap the battery with one from another working radio.

It sounds like you have some corrosion on the terminals. Remove the batteries and with a good light source look at the springs and plates to make sure there is no corrosion. If there is remove it with crocus cloth. Check the batteries also for corrosion. If you find any remove it the same way. If after cleaning everything the batteries still will not charge get new ones as you probably have one or more which are shorted.

Charge cradle says charge complete even when no radio/battery

The full charge light MAY be strictly a voltage monitor and with no battery installed the unloaded charging voltage may trigger the light.

Some of the circuits are not very sophisticated.

The key thing is if your batteries are being charged normally when you do charge them?

Problem charging

If you are referring to a flashing yellow light on the charging base, this is an error code. Either the 1) battery is bad, 2) not making good contact in the charger, or 3) very very low on charge. The solution for this set of problems is as follows: 1) have the company you purchased them from replace them, 2) clean your contacts with a pencil eraser, 3) leave the battery on the charger with the yellow light flashing for an hour or two. If the battery is just very low on a charge, it will come back to life and the light will change to be constant. If the battery is bad or shorted out, the light will continue to flash and you will need to get with the vendor you purchased the batteries from.

Other things which come to mind are compatibility issues such as you are using a different battery chemistry than you had before. NiCd batteries can charge on either of the two chargers available for the P110 (slow rate or fast rate). However, NiMH and Li-Ion batteries require a fast rate charger.

If you are referring to a yellow blinking light on the radio while it is in the charger. You need to shut your radio off. Radios should always be turned off when charging. If the radio is left on you will never have a full charge. Also, if you inadvertently press the PTT while the radio is turned on, while on a charger, you can cause damage to the radio.

FYI: There is no light to show "out of range" on the radio, unless you are possibly using a trunking or repeater system. A blinking light on your radio indicates the radio is turned on and/or there is traffic on your frequency. Your charger base light can be red, yellow or green. This indicates the charge cycle status. Flashing most always means some type of error.

Best regards

My radio cuts out when I put my brakes on or my signals on what could be the problem???

Sounds like the radio is getting power from the light system. Run a hotwire direct to the battery and see if that fixes the radio. I all
likelihood the problem will not come back.
