It seems that the LCD has got disconnected. It will be alright when the LCD is reconnected. It is a small ribbon cable that connects the LCD to the main board. It takes about five minutes for a professional to do it. So, visit the nearest Samsung Service Center to get it done. It is a press and fit affair.

My hp mini 210-1000 boots up well both on battery and adapter but it displays faintly on battery while it display well on power adapter

the problem is that its set in the power saving options. i mean on battery its set to power saver . while on power adapter it changes to hp recomended or high perfomance. So if you want to change it go to the right bottom of your screen and click the battery symbol it should give you the option to 1> change screen brightness 2>more power options. Go to more power options and select "change plan settings" beside the power saver.(not the one beside the other options) and change ur brightness. but its always better to keep it at ur minimum(with what ur comfortable) as its helpful to save battery

I would like to reduce brightness on my ASUS VH242H

Actually, the problem isn't with the drivers. Right click on the battery icon in your system tray. Select "Power Options" (NOT Power4Gear eXtreme). On the right panel, select "Adjust the display brightness." Then, select "Change advanced power settings." Scroll down and open up the "Display" box. The options that are affecting your screen brightness on battery are "Allow SmartDimmer to reduce my brightness after," "Have SmartDimmer reduce my brightness by," and "SmartDimmer full-screen video mode." Playing with the percentages in these boxes will affect how your screen brightness adjusts itself. To get my screen to stop re-brightening itself, I changed "Allow SmartDimmer to reduce my brightness after/ On Battery:" to 100%. I then changed "Have SmartDimmer reduce my brightness by/ On battery:" to 0%. Finally, I set "SmartDimmer full-screen video mode/ On battery:" to Maximum Power Saving. This should solve your screen-rebrightening problems even with the 163.44 drivers (I use those too). Please Rate.
Thanks, Anand Fixya

I have Nokia 3110c. When I switch it on, NOKIA logo comes, screen flashes 3 times with white blank screen and goes off. It never comes again. It happens every time I press power on button. There is no...

Possible that the software of the phone is corrupt or a possible hardware is defective.
You can remove the battery and memory card, have the card scanned for virus. replace battery after 15 minutes so that the phone is reset.
if the phone wont boot back the services of the Nokia support must be sought for reinstalling the software.

Toshiba Satellite R10 dim screen when power not plugged in.. tried Fn+F7(brightness) no luck

Hi,
In order to get a resolution for you dim light issue, I would like to tell you that this is caused by oxidation on the pins of the connector on the fl inverter that the harness from the system board
plugs into.

I would recommend a product called ProGold from Caig Labs be sprayed on the connector pins to remove the oxidation and to treat the pins to eliminate the likely hood of it happening again. This procedure has worked wonders for many.
For few of them it would require replacement of the fl inverter, the display or both, depending
on exactly which component has failed.

The details to do the cleaning process can be found at:

Hi

Yes you can

If you look on your keyboard there will be a fn key and if you look at the other keys (generally on the up and down arrow) you will see 2 symbols which looks like the sun they increase and decrease the brightness

Hold down the Fn key and press one of the keys if the screen brightness decreases press the other one

Please can i ask that you leave feedback and vote if this has been useful

Acer aspire one power button comes on but screen doesn't come on.

1/ Take a close look at the display in bright light; can you see anything there? (If so then the CCFL (or its power supply) needs replacing on the display
2/ hook up an external monitor and see if that works (or at least if the light stays green on the monitor)
3/ Any boot beep? any "Windows sound"?
4/ try removing the battery and (using only external power) see if it starts.
4/ remove the battery AND the external supply, hold the power switch in at least 30 seconds. Hoojk it up again, try it.

Thanks for your reply
Out of frustration I was sitting looking at the camera and thought to try all buttons and see what hapenned. On the righthand side of the camera in the bottom left position is a button marked display. Normally during live display mode, you can either switch the screen on or of by pressing this button (to conserve the batteries). If the camera is powered off and then on again, the screen automatically is in live display screen active mode again. For some reason my display remained off. When I depressed this button once after switching the camera on - voyla! The display worked again in live viewing mode. I do not know whether the screen is supposed to stay in the off mode when powered down in live display off mode even when it is switched off and then back on again or not, but the previous times I did, it was automatically on when powered up again.
So, before repairing your camera, please make sure that it is actually broken - refrain from making a fool of yourself like I did.
Thanks once again for your support
