Question about Maytag Washing Machines

3 Answers

Washing machine went into an unbalanced ( bumping mode) I stopped the machine. redistributed the load. I started it again it continued on spin cycle. I stopped the machine to attend to something else. About an hour later I attempted to start the machine. It would not start on ANY cycle whatsover. I checked the power supply ( wall plug) it was 'live' also checked the house fuse box - all O.K. Is there a reset button??? I looked, I can't find one. Any help/suggestions you can give me will be MOST appreciated. I live in VICTORIA BC CANADA. Can you recommend a repair company. Thank you Ian Marshall.

Try a hard reset first: Disconnect from power supply, turn of breaker switch/fuse for about 10 minutes. Then reconnect everything and try.
If that doesnt work, the fuse on the machine must have blown. Try replacing that and see..

BTW, is your machine under warranty?

Do you have a display panel on your model, and if so, do you get any error messages? Or does your machine not start at all?

    Check
to see whether power is getting to the washing machine. Is it plugged
in? Has a fuse blown or is a circuit breaker tripped

Also check the lid switch. If
the lid switch is defective, your washer can't spin and may not
function at all. The switch is inside the washing machine main housing
near the door frame. Often you have to raise or open the top or front
of the washer to get to the switch. If it's defective, you need to
    replace it.

Some machines have a special lid-switch fuse near
the lid switch, inside the control panel. If this fuse blows, the unit
won't fill with water until you replace the fuse.

You could try this page to locate a Maytag service center nearby:
    http://www.servicebench.com/servlet/WebS...

However, any repair center should be able to resolve this issue, if its a matter of checking the fuses, motor , etc..

My whirlpool duet washer hammers very loud when it spins. The outside of the machine doesn't seem to vibrate much but it is very loud.

That is a common occurrence with dryers such as this one. Even though it sounds bad, it is harmless. If it really bothers, you can re-balance the load and it should reduce the vibration.

Whirlpool washing machine make loud noise after spin cycle quits. Noise continues until cycle winds down. Sounds like a machine gun being fired

Hello, have to tell you that most noises from a washing machine occur during the spin cycle. If you hear loud thumping noise during the spin, the load of cloth may have become unbalanced. Stop the washer and redistribute the cloths, then restart the machine. Repeat these steps if necessary.

Thanks
