My laptop is not sstrating up.Sometimes it is switching off automatically.Now it is not starting.

-   I've had the Presario V6030US for about 2 years, it has always seemed to run pretty hot. A few days ago it got really hot and smelled like it was burning. I Shut it down and unplugged it from the outlet, now the computer will turn on for about 5 seconds and immediately shut down, it also smells like it's burning when plugged in. Anyone have a suggestion on a possible fix? I'm hoping I just need a new battery, but don't want to spend the $$ if the laptop is shot.-   jmeender

u should once take out urs laptop battery n again fit it to its place....then restrat urs laptop....
u can solve dis problem eaisly.....

A lot of HP/Compaq laptops are having similar problems. I'll bet your laptop has an AMD processor, right? If so, there is some sort of power problem where various systems components are not being supplied enough power and various components are failing. Read this:

open the backpart of laptop and remove tha bios battery from mother board and fix it again...
