On this model you need to remove the top(removable) lint filter (through a cover lid) that pushes downward into the machine, then you remove 2 screws on the top where the lint filter mount was or is then the top will raise upward

Once the screws are removed, slide the top panel forward to clear the tabs that hold it to the top of the cabinet then lift the panel up to the rear of the dryer. Something like this:

Dryer turns on but drum will not spin

Sounds like the belt is bad or the motor needs to be replaced. Unplug unit. When you open it up get a block of wood (a piece of 2x4 works) if your units are stacked on top of each other, pull the dryer towards you approx 2inches. You are going to push on the top of the dryer and insert the board underneath the dryer. The reason you pulled the dryer forward was to keep the dryer from slipping backwards while working on it. Now check the two bottom corners on the front of they dryer.occasionally there are screws holding the kick plate. Take these off, pull out and down and look for broken belts. Be sure to vacuum any loose lint while you have the unit open. Good luck.

Dryer barrel turns no heat this is a gas dryer 90 series kenmore

remove front cover, this will allow you to remove top cover, then take off drum belt and you will see the gas valve, follow the gas tube to the fire funnel and you will see the ignitor, check for continuity, if its good, then it could be a flame sensor or the control board at fault

Where are the gas solenoids on a Kenmore gas dryer and how do I get to them?

If your dryer has a bottom kick plate pull it off and the gas solenoids are on the left side can’t miss. If you don’t have the kick plate the front of the dryer must come off. The whole front will come off very easy just lift the top up from the front and the remove two screws on each side hold the front on and lift the front up and off be careful of wire’s to the door.

Kenmore 80 Series dryer won't start.

i see this all the time the dryer motor is simply to weak to kick in so it humms or sometime starts,a good test to do is flip the top up and push the start button and turn the drum at the same time and the motor should kick in,the dryer has no ball bearing it is on rollers,if you want you can check your local used appliance store and see if they have one or maybe ebay, your model number is inside the dryer door,so to sum it up it is the motor, let me know how you make out-mike

Pulley came off dont know how it goes back on

Go to repairclinic.com and click on the "Repair Help" link at the top of the page. On the next page, there will be a link for "Dryer Belt Diagrams under the "Special Features" section. Scroll down to Kenmore. Since you didn't post a model number, you will have to look at diagrams H, B, or K. If you are confused, please let me know. I hope this helps you.

BELT REPLACEMENT

Take off the front kick plate (bottom panel) then remove the front panel. The top panel will be attached to the front panel by some plastic push in retainers you can loosen with a screwdriver. The belt will go around the drum on top to a drive wheel at the bottom of the machine. you will have to slip the belt around the drum in the front or back of the drum to get it around it.

Kenmore dryer

The belt you will need for that unit is part # 341241. These belts will fit almost all Whirlpool and Kenmore models except for the DOTT (Dryer Of Tomorrow, Today) dryers. A DOTT dryer is a Kenmore model only, and has a front kick plate and the lint filter in the door.
