Question about GE Monogram ZISS420NRSS 42" Built-In Side-By-Side Refrigerator (ZIS-S420NRSS, ZIS S420NRSS)

1 Answer

The main light won't work and it's not the bulb, it's definitely the switch. I tried to pull the switch out and now broke the plastic piece! It's the wiring and it won't signal it to turn the light on(when I was pulling on it it did turn on, but didn't stay and didn't work when I "plucked" it). How do I fix this? I guess I need a new piece too.

My tornado lava lamp doesn't work. A little plastic piece just bounces around on the bottom.

It's difficult to say based on your limited description. A lava lamp is a first of all, a lamp. Does the incandescent lamp light up? If not, replace it (it's the heat source which creates the swirling action in the attached "lava" globe). As for the plastic piece, perhaps it's part of the lamp-holder socket that broke off due to heat. Perhaps part of the switch.
In any case, the light light bulb probably burnt out. Believe it a standard 40 watt bulb, but be absolutely certain to check before replacing as you do not want to put a bulb with a higher wattage in there due to the confined space inside the lamp.

Shift gear light is out on 94 ls 400

Hello

You need to pop up the wood surround up. Be careful. You have to pry up the back side (near the cup holder and slide it back. There's two pieces of plastic that the wood slides into in the front and if you don't slide it out you'll break those (I learned that the hard way). The piece will still fit fine though even if they are broken and it won't be loose. Anyway. after that is out there the plastic piece that the ect switch is in. Pop that up, there are clips again, no slides. I believe you have to remove the switch from the plastic. No big deal just pry it out easily. Remove the plastic screw and there's your light bulb. I found my replacements at radioshack. They're not exactly the same size but they work just as well. To get at the gearshift light, just reach under the left side, find the two wires going into that area, grab the plug, twist and pull out. Don't try prying the top panel off (the one with the Letters and Numbers) it will break. That bulb is a tiny wedge bulb. Just pull it straight out and do everything in reverse to put stuff back together

How to replace the third brake light (hatch) on a 2005 hyundai accent. I took off the 4 screw on the the plastic cover and it still won't come off. Tried taking off cove of back hatch but don't want to...

Above the third brake light is a small panel, remove this panel using small screwdriver.
1. You'll see four (4) bolts, remove the three bolts that are painted black, do not remove the center bolt holding the plastic molding, this is for the door molding, and has nothing to do with the light.
2. Once those three bolts are out, you'll see two more small screws, remove them and you'll have access to the third brake light bulb.

Be careful when pulling out the bulb, my bulb broke, and I'm still trying to get pieces out! - Good luck.

Can't Find Correct Pull Chain Switch I have a new bathroom wall sconce that has a two lights - a regular bulb and an LED night light. The pull chain switch for it broke and no one at Lowes or Home Depot...

It's called a "momentary switch, normally closed". This is sometimes abbreviated Mom Switch, NC. But I have never seen one with a pull chain before. Maybe you can find one with a toggle that you can attach a chain to.
Good luck.

I have replaced both brake light bulbs but they still won't work, the third brake light in the rear window does work.

Definitely sounds like a fuse. Keep your bulbs from the original lights. A blown fuse is black, and usually has the resistor blown to pieces and rattling around inside the plastic casing =) Good Luck!

Removing headlamp 2005 crown victoria

IT WOULD PROLLY BE EASIER TO TAKE THE HEADLAMP ASSEMBLY OUT ,IT IS VERY SIMPLE, IT HAS TWO BLACK CLIPS ON EITHER SIDE OF WHERE THE HEADLAMP BULB IS,FIRST TAKE FLAT SCREWDRIVER AND GENTLY PRY THE CLIPS AWAY FROM THE LAMP,& AT THE SAME TIME WITH YOUR OTHER HAND OR PLIERS PULL UP ON THE CLIPS ,WHEN THEY PULL UP STOP,& IT HAS LARGER HOLES WHERE IT STOPPED AT AND JUST SLIDE THEM OFF OF THE ADJUSTER SHAFTS,& THEM PULL THE ASSEMBLY OUT ,TO GET TO THE BROKEN PIECE

The light won't work, I changed the bulb and it still will not work

Probably bad door switch. Look for a roughly triangle shaped piece of plastic that goes into its housing as the door closes. This is the door switch. Probably a similar one at the freezer door too. Snap this switch a few times with a good bulb in place. If bulb lights even once it is the switch. BE SURE BULB IS GOOD by trying it in a room lamp first.

Door switch can be pried out using a dull knife around the plastic. Do this with the power cord unplugged. Switches like this are common to many Kenmore or Whirlpool models.

Unable to change 2009 sidelight bulb

On the sidelight, there is a Phillips screw which is hidden by the headlamp assembly. Remove headlight assembly and look for the Phillips screw. Once unscrewed, pull lens unit straight out and then you should be able to change bulb.

No light under console shifter

Half the answer?

There is a small access panel to the right of the shifter where a small flathead screw driver can be gently placed. Pry out the plastic panel. Now gently work the black trim off that surrounds the shifter using the inside of the hole that you just opened.

The trim will pop up. The silver piece of plastic will pull up. (The part that the shifter works through.) Now you can pull up the piece of plastic that has the gears listed on it. Set this aside. There is a small led bulb under this piece- to the left of the shifter.

Now, I have no idea how to get the bulb out. I have tried prying it out, and I broke the bulb, but it did not work anyway. My point is be careful because the glass went everywhere. Wear eye protection. I am stuck at this point.

There is a piece of black plastic around the base of the bulb, but I cannot figure out how to remove the bulb itself. Access is tight. The bulb is in a "ditch" of plastic with no real room to work in.

I tried to remove the armrest, but there is no access from this side.
