About the only thing you can do is make sure the batteries are good. The clock sets automatically to WWV time, and there is no manual adjustment. The following Amazon reviews tell of this problem, and how there is really no solution. One lady even sent her clock back for repair, and never got it back. Here's the review page:
http://www.amazon.com/Equity-Crosse-40018-Insta-Set-Alarm/product-reviews/B0001MHYHE/ref=cm_cr_dp_synop?ie=UTF8&showViewpoints=0&sortBy=bySubmissionDateDescending#R8Y1REIIU24I2
Wish I had better news. One review mentioned there is a smaller battery inside, so maybe changing that might help, but noone reported that it did.
You might try another brand- this one seems unreliable.

My new dyson digital slim only runs for 9 minutes and says on the box to run for 15 minutes. Can I return it

Hi there, it's Jack at Dyson.

Good news - you shouldn't need to return your machine! Dyson Digital Slim cordless vacuums have two power levels - high suction power mode for regular vacuuming, and Boost mode, which provides 6 minutes of highest suction power for tackling tougher tasks.

It sounds like you're using your machine set to Boost mode, which will reduce runtime to around 6 minutes. To change back to normal power, hold down the on/off trigger so the vacuum is running. Then at the same time, press and release the round illuminated Boost button on the rear of the machine.

I'm confident this will resolve things - if not, Dyson experts are on hand to help. You can reach the Dyson Customer Helpline for further assistance by calling 0800 298 0298 (UK), 1-866-693-9766 (US), 1-877-397-6622 (CA) or 1800 239 766 (AU).

Antique Clock Oiling Tips

CLOCK OILING TIPS
* NOTE: Many Master Clock Smiths and Hobbyists used many different oils and as many different techniques.
* It is only good sense to use only the best in quality when selecting clock oils and grease. A number of fine oils are made especially for clocks. The oil used should stay in place and not evaporate easily and have no tendency to gum or get sticky as it ages. Most clock oils meet these standards. [CAUTION: Never consider using non-clock lubricants, as they tend to not really work well in clocks. Some are too light and cause unnecessary bushings wear, while others are too thick or can evaporate, over time will gum up and stop the clock prematurely.]

Oiling Procedures
-Main-springs are oiled after cleaning and before they are recoiled.
-Teeth and pinions are never oiled.
-Normally, the dial train of gears, hour wheel, minute wheel and minute wheel post are not oiled. However, oil is used between the center shaft and cannon pinion where slip friction is present in setting the hands.
-All points of friction such as train wheel pivots to bushings are oiled. Verge faces are oiled directly.
-Oil is always used sparingly and should never run all over the plates.

Hope this tip helps.

Need manual for Travel Companion Model S1500 Alarm Clock

Travel alarm clocks can have varying instructions, depending on the type of clock you are using. Here are some tips for use that will apply to any alarm clock.

  1. Power source
    • Travel alarm clocks will need to have some sort of power source. Depending on the type of alarm clock, it might be battery-powered or it might have a cord that needs to be plugged in. Battery-powered alarm clocks can take mini watch batteries, AAA batteries or sometimes AA batteries. Travel alarm clocks, because of their tiny size, usually have the small batteries that need to be bought from a watch store or a dollar store. Before you leave, make sure you have a working power source and can turn it on.
    Changing the time
    • After you reach your final destination, power the alarm clock on. Now you'll need to set the time and date correctly. Check a watch, cell phone or television to get the exact time and locate the buttons or dials on your alarm clock. On some, there will be a "time" or an "hour" button you need to press and hold to activate the alarm time change. While you are holding it down, turn the dial, press the hour button or press the (+) button until you notice a time change. On others, simply pressing the hour or minute button will let you change the time shown.
    Setting AM/PM
    • The AM/PM option is critical in setting your alarm clock correctly. Make sure the LCD display on your clock has a light beside the correct AM or PM setting, or look for the letters AM or PM on the display. If you get this wrong, the alarm won't go off in the morning!
    Setting alarm time
    • To set the alarm time, look for a button or a switch that says alarm. If there is a switch, move it to the alarm setting. If it is a button, you'll need to hold it down until the time starts flashing, signaling time to change the hours and minutes to the desired alarm time, or hold it down while you press the hours and minutes buttons to reach the alarm time you want.
    Turn alarm on
    • Now double-check that your regular and alarm times are correct by switching the switch back and forth again, or by pressing the alarm/time buttons long enough to read the time set. There should be a picture of a bell somewhere on your LCD display showing that the alarm is set to "on." If there isn't, look for the on/off alarm button and move it to the correct position.
    Music options
    • The last step is finding the alarm wake-up option. Not all travel alarm clocks have this option, but if yours does there will be a switch or button that lets you choose to wake up by a buzzer, the radio, a CD, or another device.

My Seth Thomas radio controlled clock will not reset to the proper time. I've had it for many years, and this is the 1st problem. I changed the battery, I pushed the button for Pacific time ( I'm...

Hi lufberg,

I see you need help with your radio controlled clock.

Place your Seth Thomas atomic clock face-down on a table or desk and locate a series of buttons labeled "PST," "MST," "CST" and "EST" on the back of the clock. Press the appropriate button to set the time zone.

Turn your attention to the small lithium battery-powered digital clock display on the back of your clock. With the correct time zone set, the digital display should accurately reflect the current local time.

Locate the AA battery compartment on the back of your clock. Put two new AA batteries into your clock's battery compartment.

Set the "Mode" switch on the back of your Seth Thomas atomic clock to "Run." Wait for it to adjust to the correct time. The automatic time-adjustment process can take up to 45 minutes, but is usually completed much sooner.

I can not get alarm to work on Constant elite colour change LCD alarm clock

Underneath clock there is 4 buttons, 2 of which are marked (m) & (s) and the other 2 buttons marked with arrows for (up) & (down). depending if you have the clock, alarm or date showing press down on the (s) button for about 3 seconds and the hour digit will start flashing, use the (up) & (down) arrows to set your hour. Then press the (s) button again just briefly and the minute digit will flash and use arrow (up) & (down) buttons to set this also. Press the (s) button again and all will stop flashing and Alarm or Time or Date will be set. Hope this helps as i had same problem but figured it all out in about 2 minutes as i couldn't find my manual lol,.

I dropped my battery operated alarm clock: the second hand still works but the alarm doesn't come on at the set time and the hour & minute hands don't "hold" their position - I took the clear...

The hour and minute hands can be pushed onto their respective shafts at any point in most clocks.
If you already know the time that the alarm is set, let the clock run until it sounds.
When the alarm sounds, install the hour hand and the minute hand to the exact alarm set time. If, say, the alarm is set for 6:30, push the hour hand onto it's shaft at exactly half way between 6 and 7 and then push the minute hand onto it's shaft pointing at exactly 6.
I think this should get you operating.
