Question about RCA RTD315 Theater System
RCA RTD315 Theater System The DVD Player recently stopped playing. If I insert a DVD or CD and close, it wil start to load, and then a few seconds later will open/eject. Pressing "play" or any other buttons (either on the unit or the remote) makes no difference. Each time the door closes, the DVD or CD loads for a few secons, then door opens. I tried a variety of CDs and DVDs--same thing happens with all of them. I also tried a laser lens cleaner disc---same thing happens, and I can't get it to play/clean. I'm beyond warranty. Any thoughts, or is it just junk at this point?
My identical system has exactly the same problem as the one described by dipaola, above. When I insert a DVD, the DVD carriage pops back open after a few seconds. In fact, mine won't stay closed even without a DVD in it, as long as the system is set to play a DVD. I'd like an answer to the big Q - Is there anything I can do about this, or should I just find another DVD player to hook into the system?

Hi there. first to dipaola, lens cleaning disk`s are no good. in some cases they can damage your lens. the most better way is to open the housing and clean the lens with a cotton tip and a gentle windowcleaner. don`t press too much aply the c-tip on the surface of the lens and spin it 3-5 times then use the other side of the tip to dry the lens - ready. close the housing and enjoy your disk. to Valerie. try also to clean your lens by this way, maybe it works for you too. in not so many cases it could be a defect or loose door-switch, which tells the player that the door is closed or open. in this case try to find`em (it must be near the door-slide ) this could get loose due to the vibrations of the disc`s. maybe you can fix this by yourself or a friend can help you. otherwise , good luck. lg. Gue.
