Hi.. I purchased and downloaded the product and run it, but still I cannot delete the browsing history. I will still appear in the tool bar when I will type the first few letters of the website. Why it is like this? Why it is not deleting?

    Thanks.

  • Japhet Vailoces Nov 06, 2010

    Nah, I tried and I even copied and pasted this as you wrote;

    taskkill<1x SPACEBAR>/IM<1xSPACEBAR>iexplore.exe

A red "X" sign with: "Windows cannot find "taskkill<1x". Make sure you typed the name correctly and then try."

    Still it didn't work.

  • Japhet Vailoces Nov 06, 2010

    Hi.. I typed this one:

    taskkill /IM iexplore.exe

Then it closed the "Run" window but when I click and opened the internet explorer, still the history of my browsing are there and it is appearing as I type the first few words in the tool box.
    Issue still not resolved.

  • Japhet Vailoces Nov 06, 2010

and if I will click the arrow down from the right side of the tool bar, it will display all my previous browsing history. Therefore it is still not deleted and the solution did not solve the problem. :-(

  • Japhet Vailoces Nov 06, 2010

Not the favorites. I said in the Browsing History, i wanted to delete it... It is not save as favorites. I browsed a website which then remained in the history no matter what I did to delete it, I can't. I even followed the instruction of one of the adviser here which I ended up paying and downloading a CCleaner product but still did not solve my problem..

In the tool box, when I will type the first few words of the website which I attempted to delete several times, it will still come out. When I will click the arrow down from the tool box, it will still display all my browsed website. I attempted to delete them several time but unsuccessful.

    Thanks.

You have not mentioned what applications you have already used but I will suggest CC Cleaner. It is free and have worked well with my computer.

If that one fails, I suggest to delete the browsing history and temporary internet files in SAFE MODE.

Hi,

Run CCleaner, it does a better job.
http://www.piriform.com/

cleans up all your tracks. just close your browser first then run the program, make sure you got all the items under your browser selected and then run cleaner, it should be empty afterwards.

let me know if you need further assistance or if it didn't work, if it doesn't work, make sure you closed all intanses of the browser before doing the clean up, as it can't delete them if the programs is open in the background. you could also try restarting the computer and then running it.

Definitely works. but let me know.

I'm sorry what did you purchase? the program CCleaner is FREE.

Oh I see they have put a big BUY button on the download page, while its available completely free few inches below it.

Sorry, it was not my intention to make you purchase anything, this is a free program, supporting the makers is completely optional. Get your money back if you can, its definitely not worth the 20€ or 30$ for the task that you wish to perform.

While this is clearly and probably mostly my fault, please pay attention while surfing the web and don't buy everything that is offered.

    The program does work though,

Make sure you checked the two items below:
    Recently typed URLS
    Autocomplete form history

then close your internet browser, make sure it really is closed, Hold down the windows key and press R, then write taskkill /IM iexplore.exe and click ok, it closes the program.

  • Ekse Nov 06, 2010

    thats taskkill /IM iexplore.exe

    taskkill <1x SPACEBAR> /IM <1xSPACEBAR> iexplore.exe

  • Ekse Nov 06, 2010

the last comment didn't come out properly.

    thats taskkill /IM iexplore.exe

broken down its exactly as blow

    taskkill<1x SPACEBAR>/IM<1xSPACEBAR>iexplore.exe

  • Ekse Nov 06, 2010

No you don't write the Spacebar, you press spacebar Once.

And then once you have definitely got the program closed you run the ccleaner with all the checkboxes checked under Internetexplorer.

if it really doesn't work then try easycleaner instead and click on the clear history button.

I can't stress this enough, you need to be absolutely sure that the internet explorer is not open before you run the program.

What web browser are you using?
you may want to empty your cache. If you click tools and go to internet options, under browsing history click Delete and make sure all the boxes are ticked and click OK. then click Apply and OK.
If that doesn't work try a reset of Internet Explorer. If you again go to Tools > Internet Options. Then click the Advanced tab and click the reset button. From there tick the Delete personal settings check box and click reset.
If this doesn't work you may want to start Internet Explorer without any addons. to do this go to start > Programs > Accessories > System Tools > Internet Explorer (No Addons)

Stopping browsing history

Step 1:
Stop Web History on Internet Explorer b> Every time you visit a website, the web address, date and time of your visit is recorded in your Web browser history. The length of time this information is saved varies depending on what browser is used. If privacy is a concern, popular browsers such as Firefox and Internet Explorer offer enhanced privacy features that allow you to prevent your browser history from being stored.

Update your Web browser to the latest version of the product. Browser updates often include important security patches. Automatically clear your browser history each time you exit. In Firefox, this option is located under "Tools" and "Options." Select the "Privacy" tab and check the box marked "Always clear my private data when I close Firefox." If you're using Internet Explorer, click on "Tools" and "Internet Options" and check "Delete browsing history on exit." Use private browsing if your browser supports it. Private browsing prevents your browser from storing any information about your browsing history, including cookies, temporary Internet files and history. Pressing CTRL+Shift+P on your keyboard will activate private browsing mode in both Firefox and Internet Explorer. It can also be accessed in Firefox by clicking "Tools" and selecting "Start Private Browsing," and in Internet Explorer by clicking "Safety" and selecting "InPrivate Browsing." Private browsing must be activated each time you open your browser.

How do i delete history from the drop down at the top of my screen

If you are in Internet Explorer, simply go to TOOLS and go down to INTERNET OPTIONS and a window will pop up. You will see a section about halfway down that says "Browsing History" and a button that says "Delete" below it. Click "Delete", and another window will pop up that has options for what you want to delete. Select the options you want to delete, or simply click "Delete All" (depending on browser.) Deleting these will NOT delete anything important, they are only temporary files and settings in your browser. (see pics below) relativity_1.jpg. relativity_0.jpg

I want to wipe list of sites visited from search bar

on your computer go to: start-control panel-Internet options-new window put a check mark on "delete offline content" or "delete browsing content" then click on delete, let it finish and then click ok.
check your browser and that should remove history from it Internet explorer. If you have any other browser, you have to do it within the browser: click on tools-preferences (or options) internet and clear history (general idea) depends on your browser.

if it works for you, don't forget to rate me

thx

MYSPACE.COM IS IN SPANISH. I NEED ENGLISH NOW ! PLEASE HELP !

I would recommend clearing your browser cache and temporary Internet files, then trying to visit the site again.

If you are using Internet Explorer 7.0, go to Tools > Internet Options. On the General tab, in the Browsing history section, click Delete. When the Delete Browsing History dialog box displays click Delete All at the bottom.

If you are using Mozilla Firefox 3.0, go to Tools > Clear Private Data. Click Clear Private Data Now on the Clear Private Data dialog box.
