When you open my computer or any other file of software and when the message pops up "Insert CD for Windows" You should exactly do the same. You take your Windows CD and put it in to your CD/DVD ROM and follow the instructions. I believe that your computer is asking for Windows CD because it needs to repair your Windows. Try to repair windows using the CD.
If this does not help out you should have to make a thorough Virus scan because Virus show such a behavior.

Good Luck!

How can I install the cd in my pc

Open the CD/DVD drive, insert the CD/DVD in the drive and close it. After a short while the computer starts to run the Setup /Installation. If it does not user the Windows/File explorer to explore the content of the medium. Look for a file that is called Setup, or Install or just the name of the software with an ending .exe. Point to the file and wait for a bubble to open so that you can read the full name. Once you locate the installation program click on its icon and follow the instructions.

Trying to install my copy of word on netbook without cd

  • Insert a blank memory stick or card into a USB port of a computer that has a CD drive.
  • Place your Microsoft Word software CD into the CD drive of your computer.
  • Hold down the "Shift" key as you close the CD drive. This will prevent the CD from automatically installing Microsoft Word on the computer.
  • Open the CD drive. The files that are on the CD will appear in a window. Click on the first file that appears. Then hold down the "Shift" key and click on the last file so that you select all of the files.
  • Release the "Shift" key. Then hover your mouse over any file and right-click. Select the "Copy" option from the context menu.
  • Open the memory stick. Hover your mouse over the memory stick window and right-click. Select the "Paste" option to copy the files onto your memory stick. Close the memory stick and right-click on the memory stick icon with your mouse. Select the "Eject" choice from the menu to safely remove the memory stick.
  • Insert thememory stick into the USB slot of your netbook.
  • Open the memory stick . The top of the screen should have an Setup.exe icon. Double-click on this file to begin the process of installing Microsoft Word.

I turn laptop on and shows "installing 3 of 3 continuous loop" on packard bell easynote, please help?

You will need to boot into safe mode and delete the install cache,

    • C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution\Download
    • To erase the contents of this folder ( to free up spaces on your hard drive )
    • You will have to create a batch file to do this more faster:
    • Open notepad
    CD\ CD %Windir% CD SoftwareDistribution DEL /F /S /Q Download
    • Copy and paste these commands in your notepad
    • Save it and name it `Erase_cache', do not forget to select all files on `Save as type'. Insert `.bat' at the end of your filename.
    • Save and close.. then double click to run

I had Studio 9 on my old computer(2004). I have purchased a new computer and I cannot install. It asks me for administrator clearance and it says it's not compatable. How do I install?

You must be using Vista or Windows 7 and also trying to insert the CD in the drive and initiating installation. Please try the following steps.

    1. Check if you logging in as an administrator (if you have only one user account - forget it)
    2. Insert the CD / DVD which has studio 9 and if any window automatically opens up close it.
    3. Click on Start and click on Computer - then right click on the CD / DVD icon and click on explore, now you should be seeing a file named Setup / Install - Right click on the file and click on run as administrator and continue your installation process.

Each time i turn on my computer my printer re-installs

    Step one: Uninstall the software
Even if the HP software did not install successfully, there might be elements of the software installed on your computer. Use your product software CD to remove the HP software. If you no longer have the product software CD, skip to Method two: Uninstall the software without the product software CD .
Method one: Uninstall the software with the product software CD

    1.
Insert the product software CD into the computer's CD drive.
    2.
If the Welcome to HP screen opens, click Cancel or Exit .
    3.
On the Windows taskbar, click Start , click My Computer , right-click the CD drive, and then click Open .
NOTE: If you double-click the file, the HP Installer launches. Click Exit , and then right-click the file to open.
    4.
Double-click the Util folder, and then double-click the ccc folder. A list of files on the software CD displays.
    5.
Double-click the Uninstall_L2.bat file. The Run window opens again, with the path to the Uninstall_L2.bat file displayed.
    6.
Click OK to start the software removal, and then follow the on-screen instructions.

Method two: Uninstall the software without the product software CD
If you do not have the product software CD, you can download the software from the HP Web site, and then use the downloaded file to perform the uninstall procedure.

    1.
Open a new window to browse to the Select Software and Drivers page:
    1.
Right-click this link, Support and Drivers download page , and then select Open Link in New Window .
    2.
If prompted, type your product number. You might also need to click it in a list of similar products.
    3.
Select your operating system. The Select Software and Drivers page opens.
    2.
In the Driver section, click the Full Feature Software and Drivers option.
    3.
Click Download only . This option allows you to install the software at any time after the download completes.
    4.
The File Download - Security Warning window opens. Click Save , and then browse to the location on your computer where you want to save the file. Consider saving the file to your desktop for easy reference later in these steps.
    5.
Click Save . The software downloads to your computer.
    6.
When the file downloads, double-click the icon for the downloaded file.
    7.
When the installation screen launches, click Exit .
    8.
On the Windows taskbar, click Start , and then click Search .
    9.
Under What do you want to search for? , click All files and folders .
    10.
Type Uninstall_L2 in the first search box, and then click Search .
    11.
Double-click the Uninstall_L2.bat file. If there is more than one file in the search results, expand the In Folder column, and look for the file that is located in the Temp folder with 7zXXX.tmp in the filename (XXX varies by driver version). The HP uninstaller opens.
NOTE: If the Welcome to HP screen opens, click Cancel or Exit
    12.
Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the software removal.

Step two: Delete all temporary files

    1.
Click Start , and then click Run .
    2.
In the Open box, type %temp% , and then click OK . The Temp folder opens, displaying the Temp files.
    3.
Click Edit , click Select All , and then press the Delete key to delete the files.
NOTE: Do not highlight or delete the Temp folder. Delete only the files in the folder. If an Access Denied message displays on the screen during the delete process, click OK to close the error message and then continue deleting the remaining files.

Step three: Temporarily turn off startup programs
Follow these steps to turn off the Terminate and Stay Resident (TSR) programs running in the background on the operating system. These programs activate computer utilities like antivirus software, but are not required for the computer to function. Occasionally, TSRs prevent the product software from installing correctly. In Windows XP, the MSCONFIG utility prevents TSR programs and services from starting.

    1.
Click Start , and then click Run . In the Open dialog box, type msconfig , and then click OK .
    2.
    Click the General tab.
NOTE: Make a note of the settings in the General tab now. You will need this information to return the settings to the original configuration.
    3.
    Click Selective Startup .
    4.
If there is a check mark next to Load Startup Items , click to clear it.
    5.
Click the Services tab, and then select the Hide All Microsoft Services check box.
    6.
Click Disable All to clear all the check boxes on the list.
    7.
Click Apply , and then click Close .
NOTE: If an 'Access is denied ' error message displays on the computer when you make changes, click OK , and then continue. The message does not prevent you from making changes.
    8.
Click Restart to apply the changes.

    Step four: Reinstall the software
Use one of the following methods to reinstall the software.
Method one: Install the software with the product software CD
If you have the product software CD, follow these steps to reinstall the software. If you downloaded the software, skip to Method two: Reinstall the downloaded software .

    1.
Insert the product software CD into the computer’s CD drive. The software installer starts automatically. If the Install Wizard does not start automatically, click Start , click My Computer , and then double-click the CD drive.
    2.
On the CD menu, click Install Printer Driver .
    3.
Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the software installation, and then proceed to the next step.

Method two: Reinstall the downloaded software

    1.
Browse to the folder where you saved the downloaded file, and then click it. The file name ends in .exe .
    2.
You can accept the default location to save the files. Click Next , and then wait while the installer extracts the files to prepare for installation.
    3.
When the installation screen opens, click Install .
    4.
Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the installation, and then proceed to the next step.

    Step five: Re-enable startup programs

    1.
On the taskbar, click Start , and then click Run .
    2.
In the Open dialog box, type msconfig , and then click OK . The System Configuration Utility window opens.
    3.
    Click the Startup tab.
    4.
Select the check box next to programs that should run when the computer is turned on (refer to the notes that you took earlier in this document).
CAUTION: Do not disable any Microsoft services.
    5.
If no changes should be made to startup programs or services, click the General tab, and then select the Normal Startup check box.
    6.
Click Apply , click OK , and then click Exit without restart .

Step six: Install the HP software update

    1.
Right-click this link, HP Critical Update , and then select Open Link in New Window .
    2.
Thoroughly review the information on the download information page, and then follow the on-screen instructions to download and install the software.
    3.
Restart the computer and the product.

I was given a cd of files to view. i don't want to appear stupid....but how do i view and hear it?

Insert disk in cd tray & close the drawer, if auto-run is enabled an action window will pop up, select open folder to view files. There's a tick box, lower left, tick here to perform this action each time this type of media inserted will set your computer up to open to view each time you insert this type of disk. Other route..
Start- my computer- right click on CD-rom- open.If there are media files, when you right click you can select Open-with..This lets you choose your player, windows media player is a good option.
    Hope this sheds some light.
