Question about Freezers
We got this freezer in 2000. Recently, it started to "lose" it's freezing ability. The meats stayed frozen for a couple of weeks, while the veggies and fruits turned soft. Now everything is refrigerator cold, not freezer cold. What could be wrong. The freezer runs and is cool. The temp is turned up. There is no frost or ice forming anywhere. The door closes all the way, however when it was freezing better, the seal "sounded tighter". It's easier to open the door now whereas before we had to give it a firm pull on the handle. Please, if it is a problem with any kind of gauge or light or fluid, could you please tell us where to find these on the freezer. Thanks
Check and clean the air cooled condenser for dust and dirt. Check and make sure the fan in back, on the bottom behind a removable panel, is operating. After cleaning the condenser replace the panel.
Also you stated there is no frost anywhere. Did you check the back wall of the freezer for frost buildup. If not check it and if there is frost there your defrost system is not working and the frost has stopped air circulation.

Thank you for your inquiry, friend!
Normally it is recommended to set your Frigidaire upright freezer to zero degrees. It is your option to make it cooler if you choose too. I hope this information has been helpful. -Matt
