The service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
Good luck!

Lost password for my netgear WGR614 Router

using a paper clip press the RESET button in the small hole on the rear of the device.

that will rset the router but you will have to tell it any special settings such as your ISP logon details and wireless setting all over again on most routers.

Some do remember the basic details

Applying the settings to the logon desktop

Next, you need to apply the Screensaver settings to the Logon Desktop / Welcome Screen (Technically, HKEY_USERS\.Default registry key), so that the Screensaver is invoked when no user is logged on. Copying all the Screensaver settings to the Logon Desktop (or Welcome Screen) manually is a tough task. Use Tweak UI instead.
Download and install TweakUI.
Launch TweakUI and click Logon, click Settings.
Select Screensaver from the list box and choose Copy Now
The Screensaver settings are applied to the Logon Desktop
Restart Windows for the changes to take effect
Allow few minutes at the Logon screen, to test if the Screensaver is working properly. The Screensaver should launch after the timeout. It will look as if the Company Logo moves around.
Additional Tip
The User interface / slider allows the minimum value for picture change interval to 6 seconds only. To reduce the change interval to less than 6 seconds, alter the registry value named ChangeInterval (Set decimal value 1000 for 1 Second, and so forth) in this key:
HKEY_USERS \ .DEFAULT \ Control Panel \ Screen Saver.Slideshow
For Current user profile, make the change here:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER \ Control Panel \ Screen Saver.Slideshow

With no logon wallpaper set, Windows displays a pre-defined color for the logon desktop. ( If you have enabled Welcome Screen, press CTRL+ALT+DEL twice to see the logon screen background color. ) To change the logon background color to that of your choice, you need to alter the registry:
Click Start, Run and type REGEDIT and press Enter
Navigate to the following key:
HKEY_USERS\.DEFAULT\Control Panel\Colors
Backup the registry key by exporting to a REG file
In the right pane, double-click Background
In the Edit String dialog box, type the Color code in R G B format and then click OK.
Example: Type 0 0 0 if you want to see a Black background. You can choose any combination from 0-255
Points to ponder
If the logon Wallpaper is set, the background Color may not be visible. So, you must reset the Wallpaper value to a blank string in this key: HKEY_USERS\.DEFAULT\Control Panel\Desktop
If the Background value is set under the following Winlogon registry key, the above setting is ignored. In other words, the Winlogon\Background value takes precedence over the .DEFAULT..\Background value.
HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon

I want to put password on my router netgear

do you have the manual, get the manual from netgear online and that will give you the default passwords and login.

select your router here:

To access the router you use an internet browser and type the ip into the address bar, something like then you logon with username and password. usually admin and admin for most routers. then in the settings you should find an option to set password

Lost my network password and cant logon witrh my lAPTOP

You'll have to restore it to factory defaults then logon with the default password and re-configure it. Google the product with the model number for instructions on how to default it and the default password if you don't have the owners manual

I am trying to hook up wireless router, Desktop has cable. Do not want desktop to be wireless just laptop.

Login to from your desktop PC. This should bring your to a router logon config page.
The default login and password is usually "admin/admin" or "Administrator/Password" keep trying a few different login/password combos until you get in. "Caps/Lowercase"..etc.

Once you get in you can set the WEP/WPA security key for the router. Then apply the key you generate to your laptop.

I cant get my passphrase # for router WGR614

Connect to your router via a LAN cable, logon to and use the user id and password for the router. If you don't remember the password, then you can reset the router settings by pressing the black button at the end of the router with a pin or so, so that you can use the default factory setting password written on your router.
In the "Advanced Wireless Settings" you can find the paraphrase and encryption key information, which you can modify yourself.
If you are still unable to find this information then let me know.

My old 2wire 2701hg-b router went bad and I replaced it. I had a netgear wgr614 attached to it for a second network and now i can not get the netgear to attach although all lighs appear okay Showdave

Its just locked up as it can't see your old router, 2 resolutions:

If you have have backed up your config settings for the router or you don't have any set then press and hold the reset button for 30 seconds, now let go and power the router off, now power the router off and back on again>this will reset the router back to factory defaults and you now connect back up to the router but you will have to setup your broadband logon again.

The second option is to connect the router via an ethernet cable and reset the router and it should let you connect wirelessly again.

WGR614 54Mbps

Wat ya need to do is follow the installation proceedure in the manual.. What is meant by the go here... or sometimes it can be,, this is NOT a web site as such .. no, it is the "Door In" address, to your "Router" when you type in the address & required logon & Password,(NB: This logon & Password are NOT your internet ones.. usually it is something like ADMIN & ADMIN. (But it will tell you exactly in the documentation) of ya Routers address (192.....), this will allow you to adjust the settings required to access the internet etc. As per the instructions in the tutorial. However often there is an Install/Setup CD that usually comes with ya Router.. normally ya use the "Wisard" that helps you "Connect Up" and takes care of everything except for your ISP Logon & password. I have found you a link that will should help you with all of this...
