Question about Amana ARB2214C Bottom Freezer Refrigerator

1 Answer

My ARB2214cw is running and all is cold, however, during the run cycle, something is "clicking" on, making a humming sound, and "clicking off". This is happening about every 30 seconds. I cannot get to condensor coils as the back is sealed up. What could the problem be?

The relay on the compressor has more than likely when out, or the compressor itself. If you've never had th relay overload changed on it then that is your problem. If you were to get behind the machine, take the lower panel off to see the compressor, there is a box on the side of the compressor with wires going to it. Thats the part that is bad. The part number for it is 12555902 for the relay and the capacitor is c8931612. This is an easy fix.

Condencer runs for 20 sec then off keeps repeting after 2 or 3 min goodman central system

Seems like it trying to start and then cuts out , possibly on overload. Try the machine on fan blow only , that will check the indoor unit to see if that is working. Then try cool or heat function while listening to the machine starting. If you hear a loud humming just as the fan starts, and then it cuts out, It could be a compressor issue. Possibly the start capacitor has failed.

SM 8525492A whirlpool washer rinse cycle no water comes out, just hums

when the washer goes into rinse cycle it only uses cold water so clothes don't rinkle,so most likey you have a problem with your cold water,do this, shut down the water to the washer, remove the water lines from the back of washer and mark them so you know how they came off, stick the hoses into the washer if they reach or a bucket, turn on the cold water to see if water is coming out of hose,if water does come out of hose good then stick the cold water hose back on the washer and run it only on cold,if it doesn't fill then you know you have a problem with the water valve on the washer and it's not the house water valve that's bad,and usually if you have a problem with the washer water valve it will just hum and no water will enter the washer so if you hear a humming sound it will be the water valve.tried looking up the model number you sent but it doesn't come up on the parts lookup

Washer agitates but won't spin or drain - makes a humming/buzzing sound during those cycles

check the pump, could have a sock or something stuck in it.usually i would say to check the lid switch, open and close the lid,if you don't hear a clicking sound the washer won't go into spin or drain but if you're hearing a humming sound that's the motor watch this video
http://www.youtube.com/user/RepairClinic?v=DwV71h86Gxw it will show you how to get to the pump.pop off the two clips that hold the pump on and remove the pump just pull it backwards off of the motor shaft, now get a piece of wire and strip the ends on it,2 to 3 inches long, unplug the washer before you start to work on it,get your jumper wire and stick it into the wire harness that connects to the lid switch, don't plug it into the ground plug it into the other two wires not the green wire,i'm pretty sure it's the two outside wires and the green ground is in the middle, plug the washer back in and pull the timer out in the spin cycle,if the motor runs and spins you know something is stuck in the pump or the pump is bad,but just to make sure it's not the lid switch and it is the pump put the pump back on and start the washer again if you hear the humming it's the pump or before you pull the pump jump out the lid switch and see if it spins and drains,if it doesn't then pull the pump so you don't have to stick the bad pump back on the washer, all the lid switch is for is so the washer will not run in the spin with the lid open and some washers won't even agitate if the lid is open by using the jumper wire we are bypassing the lid switch to check the washer while it's apart.hope this helps and if you can let us know how you make out so if someone else reads this with the same problem it will help them out too.

Clicking sound and electronic hum from left side of dashboard? Seems as if something is being "called" by computer? Only happens when cold. everything 'cept tape player functions as...

This would be your secondary air pump... it basically pumps fresh air into the exhaust to help thin out the emissions, it usually only runs when cold. Do you have an engine light? They can go bad... but the humming is probably that turning on and off.

Is it normal for the outdoor unit on my coleman h/p to make a surging humming noise? the fan does not run during this period, approx. temp. is 28 degrees F. the fan runs 30 seconds befor the unit...

Sounds like your unit is going into defrost mode. When this happens the fan in the outdoor unit shuts off so you get more heat in the outdoor unit to defrost the coils. The heatpump is basically in A/C mode during defrost and the electric heat strips will kick in so you don't feel a cold blast of air in the house.

Freezer compartment no longer cools. Continuous defrost cycle?

Good day,
Sounds more like the compressor trying to start and can't.
Pull the machine out, remove the rear cover and see if in fact the sound is coming from the compressor.

Bosch dishwasher timer freezing

There is a recall on the control board of many of these models, butyour problem is likely not related. It sounds like a plugged drain system or a possible bad drain pump. That's why you are hearing the pump running constantly. I have written a guide to help. It is here. Thanks!
