Question about Maytag Washing Machines

1 Answer

The left front leg on my 14 yr. old Maytag washer has become shorter than its right hand mate; therefore the washer is no longer level. I can turn the nut on the short leg with my fingers but cannot get the leg "down" so that the washer is again level. I can slip all of my fingers under the leg, it is that much shorter. also I understand that there is some sort of safety recall on my washer model # LAT9416AAE/Serial # 112771850OS. I called the number that was given to me to get a technician out here to fix it, but the office is closed until Monday. I would appreciate any help, so that I can finish my laundry. thank you. To bring the leg down, you will need to turn the leg counter clockwise. After the leg is down to the floor you tighten the nut to lock the leg in place. Hope this helps you. Reply if you need additional help. Thanks

Maytag MAH8700AWW noisy. Bearing?

In some cases it is a simple adjustment of the Levelers. Use a flat level device to check the levels from front to back and side to side. Make certain the Washer and Dryer have a space between them and they do not bang into one another.

I have a Maytag Model # LA806-02, which dances across the flor when in the spin mode. Tighting the three centering spring has helped very little.

If your Maytag is dancing across the floor the most common problem is the leveling. If one or more of the feet are not level it ill wobble and walk around the floor. When you level the machine on the top both directions make sure the set nut is tightened so you will not have to retighten it again later.

The Maytag PAV 2300 does not spin right if the load is slightly off balance. It bangs on the side and ordinarily lists to the right. On inspection, the washer is on level.

The list to the right should be resolved. Use a level and level the case left and right, and front to back. The final step is to tilt the machine fully on to the front legs, releasing the self leveling rear legs, and set the machine back down. It should be stable on the 4 feet.

usually this will center the drum and it is more forgiving on balance issues, most of which are common. Be sure to use MORE than enough water for more even loads.

Our new Bravos washer shakes excessively during the spin cycle, is this normal for this model?

No, not normal. Bravos don't even vibrate much. First, make sure the machine is sitting level. If it is level front to back and side to side and still shaking, try this simple test, put your hands on opposing corners (right front, left back) at the same time and try to rock it back and forth and then try it on the other 2 corners (left front, right back). If the machine wobbles at all it would cause this issue. This can be cause by a lose leg or leg mounting issue. If all this checks out you should call for warranty service as it could be something internal and you don't want to let it go for a long time.

How do I level my machine with an accessory drawer underneath?

Do not try to level the washer. Level the feet on the pedestal AFTER the washer is installed. Just make sure the legs of the washer are all set the same on the pedestal and tightened down. Then, adjust the pedestal feet so the washer is level front-to-back and side-to-side. Once you level the unit, place your hands at opposite diagnoal corners on the top of the washer (one hand on a rear corner, the other hand on the front corner). If the washer has a firm foundation and you have the leveled the feet correctly, it should not move when you apply any pressure at these opposite corners. If you have questions, please let me know. I hope this helps you.

I just cannot get it level...wobbles from left to right...I have tried adjusting legs up and down. Legs do not seem to move..regardless of how much I turn them. Any advice?

are you turning the leg or the pad around the feet, may have to remove the pads by pulling them off then make sure the jam nuts are loose before turning the leg, it is also possible the legs are stripped but unless you stripped them its highly unlikely

The back legs are usually not adjustable. Adjust the front legs & lock them with the lock nuts, at the lowest level, that is the machine tilts towards the front. Adjust further if there is any shake when you try with your hands.

You could also check to see if any springs or shocks have become loose. Refer manual.
