Being a computerized machine i would take it to a service center, if this isn't an option at this time next to the post you put your bobbin on is the depth adjustment, there is a screw in the top of it very gently loosen scew and slowly rotate the depth gauge until you think it is where you want it . you may have to sdjust it a couple of times before you get it where you want it so go slowly and carefully

when does the machine unthread itself? when you are sewing? or embroidering?
1. check top tension.
2. leave longer threads from bobbin and needle before you begin sewing.

How to remove front casing from innovis 4000 brother sewing machine

I would contact Brother, they have an outstanding service department. But if the thread is only around the hand wheel, try pulling it outward to see if you can access the thread that way. Many hand wheels pop out, to disengage the needle mechanism so you can wind a bobbin.

Bobbin doesn't wind on my cs-8080 innovis

On my one the rubber ring had degraded into a sticky mess and come off the pulley-shaped wheel on the bottom end of the winder shaft. It had stuck itself to the casing by the shaft bearing. Using Q Tips and nail varnish remover I managed to clean it all off.
To access the screw that holds the bobbin winder mechanism in the case; you first need to remove the screws that hold the circuit board in place and ease it out of the way.

I have the Brother SE270D and when I was winding the bobbin the thread somehow slipped under the bobbin and was wound around the peg under the bobbin winding area. I thought I could remove the screws and...

You can either take the machine in for repairs or, use another sewing machine (if you have one that uses the same type of bobbin) for bobbin winding or purchase a Sidewinder Bobbin Winder - search the Internet for the best price.

What does E-1 mean? My CS8060 Wont sew. It has been f ine but now is very stubborn. Ive tried to sew on 00 and 04, now it won't cooperate.

E-1 is an error. You've probably pressed the foot peddle without the pressure foot being down. That will cause me to get the E-1 error. If this isn't the case, turn the machine off and then on again--that usually clears any errors.

When you say the machine is very stubborn and won't cooperate, what do you mean? I've found my CS8060 is extremely sensitive to lint buildup--that will make my machine get screwy really fast!

Take off the guideplate, the bobbin case, unscrew the throat plate, and take it off. Now use your little brush and brush out all the lint down under there. Brush off the bobbin case, guideplate, throat plate, and as deep inside the machine as you can reach. Don't use canned air--that will push the lint deeper inside the machine. You may have to use long tweezers to get some of the lint out.

Generally speaking, whenever a machine becomes uncooperative, the problem is:
  1. the machine needs cleaning/oiling (but our Brothers don't ever need oil!)
  2. the threading is somehow off--rethread the machine completely, even if you've used the machine a gazillion times (top thread and bobbin)
  3. the needle needs to be replaced
  4. the needle and thread aren't compatible (not nearly as common as the other three possibilities)
Hope this helps!

Unable to wind bobbin on Brother Css-8150 stopped suddenly

Checking to see if in fact that the bobbin shaft is turning. Run it without any bobbin on the bobbin shaft. Make sure that it is push over in the correct position and run it. I checked on mine and it does make the whirring sound and the the shaft does spin. Also check underneath the shaft to see if there is any thread wrapped around it. ( I had problems with that in the past). I hope this helps,
