If you are getting a hard drive detection error message then one of 2 things have happened ether the master boot record on the hard drive got corrupted or the drive has gone bad. Id say you have a corrupted HDD..
This happens if you turn the ps3 off alot by the switch instead of going to shutdown.
New HDD should fix it
