Question about Sewing Machines
This sounds like there may be some oil that has turned to varnish and is therefore, seizing the stop motion knob in place. The old oil will have to be dissolved unless it has just been overly tightened. With the machine not used in some time, it should be serviced and lubed so it will work like new again.
