Condenser fan is knocking

Sounds like you need to clean off the fan blades. Over time the fan will build up so much dust it can interfere with the fan cooling the condensing coils. If the fan can't keep the coils properly cooled off the temperature in the refrigerator will rise. Make sure to unplug the refrigerator before cleaning the fan. Of course it could be that your condensing fan motor is just going bad (bearing etc.) If you are not comfortable checking the unit yourself contact an appliance service company.

My ice machine manitowoc q 132a starts up stops after few seconds while water pump start

There is a high pressure switch that stops the unit running if a fan fails or the condenser is clogged. Next time you start the ice machine, watch the bottom led on the pcb. It will tell you if there is a fault. Meantime, reset the hp switch and clean the condenser thoroughly.

My magic refigerator/freezer condenser fan stops but when I move the fan blade it starts working and the refrigerator get cold again. Is it a bad fan unit or something else?

yes if you can barely touch blade and it stops the fan motor is bad. While replacing conderser fan motor be sure to clean dust from condenser coil. Then as regular maintiance clean coils twice per year.

Go to www.searspartsdirect.com enter your model number and select model number search.

Here you can see a diagram of the unit. The fan motor cost 95 dollars.

It depends on the type of noise it is making.

These motors when failing tend to hum when trying to start which is a sign of a dry bearing.

Rattling sounds or ting ting ting sounds are either a lose fan blade (check the cheap retaining clip on the front of the shaft .. it may have wiggled forward causing the blade to wobble) or a lose mounting screw.

Also I can't tell from the diagram how close the fan is to the drip tray(tray evaporator) These fans not only aid in removing heat from the condenser.. they help evaporate the water in the drip tray.

If you remove the motor.. have it tested before replacing it. At a hundred bucks it's worth a trip to a good electric motor shop. They generally will test it for free.

If you are able to determine the voltage and hook it up out of the cabinet you may save yourself a trip.

Chances are it's a lose mounting screw or that front blade retaining clip.

Best of luck!

Just had the condenser fan motor replaced on my 550 sub zero refrigerator. I forgot to asked the serviceperson the following questions: Does the fan continously stay on and what is the normal sound of...

Good day,
On models with 2 compressors the condenser fan motor runs 24/7. It must since the compressors run randomly and that motor must be on since it handles both units.

Fan noise is subjective. It itself makes little noise but the blade does. If for example the blade was changed from the nylon style to a metal blade (good idea) then it would be somewhat louder.
If the noise is not objectionable then I would use it as is.

I HAVE AN MANITOWOC Q SERIES CVD 2075 UNIT RUNS FOR 30 MINUTES AND ONE OF THE DUAL FANS CUTS OUT CAUSING INSULATION TO BURN OF HOT GAS LINE PLZ HELP

Sounds like a bad headmaster valve, bad fan motor, or bad pressure cycling switch for the fan motor. Will need to know operating pressures to troubleshoot. Not really a DIY job unless you have some experience.

Condensor fan runs during harvest cycle , hot gas valve energizes, evaporator harvests ice incomplete

Sounds like possibly a bad relay in the controls. The condenser fan is supposed to turn off during harvest. If the harvest is incomplete, and I do not know if your model has an ice curtain or not, I will assume it does and the curtain switch is not operating properly. No model, can't be more specific.

GE side by side refrigerator

Try pulling toe plate at bottom front and clean the condenser coils. If they are plugged, it will cause this to get hot. If you can't see coils in front remove back panel and clean coils there.. Give it time after cleaning to see if it helped. If no change, remove back panel and check to see if fan is turning when the compressor is on.
Also check for something caught in fan blade, such as a dead mouse or a dead coupon. If fan isn't turning, may need condenser fan motor. If still need help, give us a model number. Found in refrigerator compartment at top on side walls.
