Does other functions work, if it does, the more likely to have worn out carbon pad on the power button.
Testing remote control:
The remote control puts out IR (InfraRed) signal that human eyes cannot see, to find out if the remote is sending out the signal or not you just point the remote at the digital camera's Lens (Digital Camera can detect IR), you should see flashing light on the camera's screen when any one of the remote button is pushed. If you do see the flashing on the camera, then the problem is in the TV IR receiver or the main logic board; more troubleshooting with scope will be needed to look at the signals.

Akai TV CT 2579A will not turn on. It is in standby mode, and pressing "on" with the remote causes a click noise but unit stays in standby mode ... the manual on/off switch does the same thing...

Suspect the problem is in the control circuit of the TV. Often the detector will go bad and have to be replaced. The only way to know for sure what is causing the problem, which parts that are no longer within factory specs and for proper repair all the electronics must be diagnosed by someone with the correct electronic test equipment and the skills to use the test equipment.

Hope that helps........

Menue display is not coming other all function is ok chanel volume collour sound all things working well

If you have buttons built into your tv, try to access the menu through them. If this works, then it is the specific button on the remote that is not working. To fix this, remove the batteries from the remote, and open the housing using a small phillips screwdriver. Because the contact is dirty on the remote, you will need a circuit board cleaner from radioshack or an online retailer. Occasionally rubbing alcohol will work for this use too. Once the circuit board has been removed from the remote, apply the cleaner to the contact no longer responding and let dry. If possible, test the switch without putting the whole remote back together. This problem is pretty common and this fix should work on the first try. Best of luck.

Remote doesn't switch to game mode

It won't let you switch to video/game mode?
If it's a universal remote, it may just be that the button is actually called TV/VCR instead of AV or input.
If it's the actual remote for the TV, then perhaps the button itself is no longer working (usually from repeated pressing or excessive pressure/twisting). Either that, or the digital circuit that controls the switch between inputs is no longer working.
Try accessing your TV's menu with the controls along the front or on the remote. Most TVs will let you switch through those menus.

Can i put my tv on input without the remote

If your tv's front panel isn't working at all and the remote isn't either, then there is a simple fix. The only thing is that you will only be able to control your tv with the remote only. You can disconnect pin 4 at the connector of P001B on the front control panel circuit board. That will disconnect all the tack switches but allow the use of remote. First take your tv rear case off (there is 3 small torx head screws on the rear input/output panel, remove these first. Then there is two torx head screws on the left, top, and right side of the case facing rearward and connecting the black rear portion to the front silver portion). Once the rear case is off, there will be the front control panel circuit board attached in the front of the tv that needs to be unscrewed. Once unscrewed you can see all the connections labeled with eithers words or numbers. On the P001B connector on the front panel circuit board, there will be a 1 on one side and a 5 on the other. The pin 4 is naturally directly to the left of the 5 pin. There will be a bundle of wires leading from the front control panel to the main board of the tv which is on the bottom of the tv. Disconnect this from the main board. Then follow the #4 pin wire all the way from the front panel circuit board, to the connector end that you disconnected (This will be easy b/c they are in a flat bundle side by side). Then just completely remove only the #4 pin connector wire from the connector end. Wrap the end in electrical tape, plug the connector end back into the main board, and put the tv back together and it should work fine with the remote only (the front panel buttons will no longer work).

Remote no longer works

In side of the TV set there is a remote receiver module. In some models of sets, there is no module. They use descrete components on the main circuit board. The fault could be in the remote receiver section. In some models of TV sets there are some remote amplifiation circuits along the way to the uPC controler. There could be a fault along this path.

The service tech would troubleshoot this by verifying the voltage supply to the remote receiver circuits. Then he would shoot an IR remote signal to the receiver, and then follow the data flow from the output of the IR reciever circuits along its signal path to the uPC controler. This way, he should be able to see with the scope where the data signal is failing.

RCA 27R410T my tv turns itself off and on

My one year old 24" RCA was having the same problem and also changing channels on its own. I decided to do some experimenting. (Warning: High voltages exist inside a TV even when it is unplugged. Messing around inside a TV may be very dangerous and stupid.)

I found that there was a 5 wire ribbon cable that connected the circuit board with the front control buttons to the main circuit board. I discovered that if I turned the TV on, then disconnected that ribbon cable from the main circuit board, the TV was stable, it would not do anything on its own. Obviously, I could not control it either with the ribbon cable disconnected.

Since there did not appear to be any ic chips on the button circuit board, but mainly some resistors, I theorized that the buttons simply caused a certain voltage signal to be returned to the main board. I further theorized that perhaps the voltage being sent to the board was varying causing the return voltage to also varying making the main board thing a control signal had been sent.

The five wires are labled on the small control circuit board. One was labeled "key". (or maybe "keys") I separated and cut that wire. The TV was then stable. It could be controlled by the remote control, but the buttons on the front were now not functional.

I connected some longer wires to the "key" wires and ran them outside to a switch. The TV now works fine with the remote control and is stable and will not do anything on its own. If for some reason I do need to use the manual buttons on the front, I can simply flip the switch on and the buttons will work. However if I leave the switch on the TV will again be unstable, turning itself on and off and changing channels.

That is how I "fixed" my RCA.

You will need to get to the control board and see if any of the front panel buttons are sticking. if they are not, you will have a bad switch or the remote sensor is defective. If you have no TV repair experience. you will need to consult a pro to assist you with this repair. Good Luck

You may have broken the circuit board inside your tv. You need to have it checked out at a shop. It'll probably be cheaper to replace than repair.
