Sears Kenmore Front Loading Washer. It squeaks on the slow spin & knocks violently on the fast spin.

Thanks for the model number but need the make as well to use the model number to research problems with the machine associated with this noise you have, it would save time to know if this is a front loading machine as well.

Thjanks for that, the problem is caused by the tube bearing failing and this in turn causes the tube shock absorbers and or springs to fail, the entire tube assembly must be removed and the bearing replaced and all the parts checked for damage associated with the tube stablitization, this is a huge job and not for the average home repair person unless you are very talented and have a really good set of hand tools

If you are going to attempt the replacement of the parts yourself this video at Youtube will help to take apart the washer. You can order the parts from the web link below the Youtube link.

Frigidaire was tub makes loud thump noise during spin cycle....

Need more information to make an accurate diagnosis, try removing the front panel (two screws at bottom) and visually check first the belt (all the way around) and then the springs that hold the tub suspended.
I would bet on the belt.

Knocking in washer

Hi,
Most noises from a washing machine occur during the spin cycle. If you hear loud thumping during the spin, the load of clothes may have become unbalanced. Stop the washer and redistribute the clothes, then re-start it. Repeat these steps if necessary.

good luck.........

Kenmore series 80 washer makes loud knocking noise during spin cy

Unless your front loader is set firmly on concrete and leveled to perfection, the force of a heavy wash load spinning in excess of 1000rpm will create a bit of vibration and noise.A firm footing is your best defense against to much movement.
Also due to the earlier movements during the spin cycle, the shocks that are used to dampen the spin cycle might have been broken or damaged.
If the problem persists inspite of proper levelling, please do check for the shocks or might have them replaced them for good.

I have a kenmore front load washer, model: 417 42042100
It makes loud noise and becomes louder during the spin cycle.
The drum is loose when I inspected through the front door.
My problem is how to open the cabinet and replace any broken parts.

Thanks.

Loud noise while agitating in wash cycle

If you begin dissassembly from the tub down, you wil come to the transmission with the spindle sticking out of it. If you undo the bendable tabs all around the transmission it comes apart in two halves. Careful, its full of oil. The spindle has a plastic gear bolted to the bottom of it. It meshes with other gears in the tranny. It has sheered teath and is making the noise.
