80g ipod (5th generation video) - problem with restoring and recovery mode

Hello! Well my new black 80g ipod has been working fine up untill recently.
I plugged it into my computer and itunes said i needed to restore it as it was in recovery mode. So i did! but when it was in the final stages on recovery (when it says wait for the ipod to re-boot, it will show up in the window)...it tells me to click the recovery mode again! its a never ending cycle, ive done it about 17 times now. Its getting tedious. The screen is always white with the words DO NOT DISCONNECT and when i do, its still white with 'ok to disconnect' or the apple logo telling me to plug it back in again.

Try rebooting the Ipod by holding down on the center button while holding down on the menu button until the apple logo appears on the screen.

If it isn't working properly after doing that just do a restore once.

You might want to reinstall ITunes into your computer as well. It could be corrupted. Make sure you uninstall it first.

Restart your computer back up after you install it.

Mi ipod nano 5th generation bacame blanck all white the screen and does not connect to the itunes or does not resset

Welcome to Fixya

Looks like the software just hanged-up on you. Try to reset the Ipod by following the procedures below.

1st option:
Turn the Hold switch on, then back to off.
Press and hold the Menu and Select buttons for 10 seconds (until the Apple logo appears).
You may need to repeat the reset several times.
If the reset doesn't help, then put the iPod into forced disk mode.

2nd option (Disk Mode):
Plug the iPod into a high-powered USB port, let it sit for 2 hours, then disconnect it. If you have a wall charger, plug in the iPod, then follow these steps while it is still plugged in.
Turn the Hold switch on, then back to off.
Press and hold the Menu and Select buttons until the Apple logo appears
Immediately switch your figures to press and hold the Select and the Play/Pause buttons until "Disk Mode" appears at the top.
For a lot of people, this solves the problem. Connect the iPod to the computer and (assuming it shows up) reset the iPod again to get it out of Disk Mode. If at this point you still have the white screen, restore the iPod using the restore function in iTunes under the Summary tab (this will erase everything on the iPod and put it at factory settings).
Note: Do not disconnect or eject the iPod until the store is totally done. After you think it's done, wait another five minutes.

Iv forgot my 4 digit pin to unlock my ipod touch-black

Hello.
Welcome to Fixya Community.

You need to restore it with iTunes, but you can't restore an iPod While its Locked With a password, well in order to Force it to Restore you shud put it on Recovery Mode.
Hold down the power and home keys down for about 10 seconds each while plugged into iTunes. When the screen goes black, release the power button but keep holding the home key until itunes says. We have detected an itouch in recovery mode.

From there you can restore as normal via iTunes.
Thank you For USing Fixya.
Good Luck.

Apple iPod touch Not able to Switch ON

http://www.ziphone.org/

Use the Ziphone ipod touch and iphone jailbreak GUI to put the ipod in recovery mode. Then restore it using iTunes.

You don't have to jail break it.

THat happened to me once when I installed something on my ipod.

it kept on restarting, and i used ziphone recovery and started over.

Make sure to get 1.1.4 firmware. its the most recent update on ipod touch.
