I turn my ps3 on and it wont load the menu screen it just stays at the screen before the menu with the flowing lines

This is a common HDD error.
Please contact your reseller if your PS3 is in its warranty.

Note: Giving punches in your equipment is a common sollution but a wrong one, because you can damage even more the equipment. I.E: The HDD needle can break or scratch the HDD surface. Also, warranty is violated whan misuse occurs.

i just turned on my ps3 today and there was a red screen that said " there was a serious error and i need to call technical support for assistance" in different languages. it wont let me do anything else it just stays in that screen. I cant even go to my menu. Please if anybody has any advice write back!!!!!!!!

try holding the power button down for 5 sec this will do a manual reset, if that doest work make sure you video cables or hdmi is tight

Take it back to the store you purchased it from and exchange it for another one.

we have the same problem but i got one step to make it enter the system,, when turning on ur ps3 u nid to hold the switch until u hear the 2nd sound,, once that happen the system will show up but there is still a problem in my ps3,, u can see the system but it will not load games or any video icons in the system,, u will only see settings configuration there but once u click it the ps3 will freeze,, comment me if u had the same problem in entering the system,, i doubt that i need to format the hdd via pc,,

ya i cant get my 40gb ps3 to work i was playin a game it went to a loading screen and it stayed there so i turned it off then turned it back on and now it wont play the game i can still get on the internet though
