Generator backfires

Sound like the intake valve is stuck open. You may try to lubricate it with WD-40 through the spark plug hole and or the carb. and using a clothes hanger that is bent just right to push it back closed or possibly remove the access panel to the valve springs and check for a broken spring.

My eagle 4000 is 120volts then it is accedentally plug in to 220volts. it blown the fuse at the power supply pcb board then i replace the fuse 10amperes but it still blowing.what could be the problem?

Hi,
There will be an MOV (metal oxide varistor) After fuse. This MOV is rated 125v. When you plug the machine in to 220v supply this MOV will become shorted and its blows the fuse to prevent further dameges to the power supply. Replace the MOV and then insert the fuse. I have added the image of MOV here. It is placed parallel to the AC mains supply rail after fuse.

Tappet clearance and spark plug gap on 5.5 hp ohv engine, i have a generator which runs on natural gas made by china i just want to know the gap of tappet and the spark plug gap

I have a Robin but they all are pretty much the same for plug gap and tappets. I worked in a lawnmower small engine repair shop for many years in San Diego
I set them all the same and never had one return. I just did mine a couple of months ago and hand lapped the intake and exhaust valve seats. Starts first time everytime like the 7.5 year old unit is new!!!

Plug gap 0.19

Tappets

Intake .005 cold
Exhaust .006 cold.

Stop working, burned fuse

although unfamilliar with your particular induction cooktop. If you have a fuse thats gone bad, adn you replace adnthat fuse goes bad upon powering up, it sure sound s as if you have a dead short somewhere under there triggering it to blow. no wires touching any metal (fallen off terminals perhaps??))if not id start diconnecting power line leading to individual switches, perhaps a short within the switch if shorting out unit.

Subwoofer issues

Hi,

The fuse blows when the current that passes through it are beyond its rating. This could be brought about by excessive consumption of the load, in this case the amplifier powering the sub-woofer.

Repairs would involve component level and require that you be familiar with electronic components and circuitry, use of a DVM and a soldering iron. Often it is just the finals that needs to be replaced. Of course we cannot discount the possibility of other components or section such as the power supply.

The smoke indicates something heating up such as a resistor or diode or a capacitor.

Should you be uncomfortable opening the unit and doing a DIY (do-it-yourself), then perhaps you need to seek the services of a qualified professional.

Should the downtime and cost of repair be no longer economically reasonable, purchase of a new unit might save you further trouble.

Hope this be of initial help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information.

Good luck and kind regards.

Thank you for using FixYa.
